The people of Eiovi already loved me for my innovations in the home, but ever since I delivered the news that I would be sharing the blueprints of my airship and developing new models, I couldn't even walk the streets without someone shaking my hand.
"My family is all back in Gluaze, you could save them!" A particularly excited human told me in Eiovian.
"I'll see what I can do." I said back, deciding to use a disguise from now on.
'The buildings in this area are all decrepit, ever since I arrived at Eiovi I've learned that while they don't discriminate on race, they do discriminate on status. Perhaps I could help these people a bit.'
I reached for my coin purse but Spirit stopped me.
'Don't be stupid, direct help just feeds them till they can't leech off of you anymore. Teach them to fish, don't fish for them.'
'Okay, genius, what should I do?'
'Recruit them. You're going to need a workforce.'
'What about my golems?'
'They're dumb and clumsy, humans can do precise tasks like making compasses or gyroscopes.'
Thuck a thucka thuck!
The sound of helicopter blades reverberated between the buildings.
"Ingen! There you are! The workshop caught fire!" Laveki shouted at me.
'This will have to wait.'
"I'll skip the hows and whys, come here!" I put her helicopter in a compression sphere and took off with her in my arms.
'Wings are definitely faster than the Minute Hand Six, but the Six can carry more. It's good that it's light though.'
I poured some more power into my wings to counter the nose-dipping that the compression sphere caused.
"You ready?! I shouted over the wind as we neared the workshop."
"For what?!"
"This." Orin kept pace with me and caught Laveki as I dove directly down.
I landed roughly and got to work putting out fires. I saw two of my five golems putting out fires and the others pulling people from the wreckage. Soon the fire brigade I invented pulled up in their carriage and sprayed down the building.
"Tanne is still inside!" someone shouted. "He's the last one!"
One of the firemen put a blanket around him and told him that the building was unsafe to enter.
'Nah, it's perfectly safe.'
I blasted passed the firemen into the main hall. I made a bubble of air around my face and put out fires everywhere I went.
"TANNE! Where are you kiddo?!" I shouted for my student as I used my new sub affinity, Detection, to look for him.
'The range is too short, I need to work on it.'
I slid around a corner and saw him covered in soot, motionless.
'He's breathed in too much smoke, get him out of there!' Spirit strained to speak with me.
My Changeling armor empowered me and protected me from the heat as I ran.
"Gotcha! Don't die on me just yet, next week we're talking about electricity!" I put my hand on the wall and it decayed, I repeated this until I reached the outside wall.
I looked over the edge and unfurled my mimic-covered wings and flew out of the workshop just as it collapsed.
I landed in front of the crowd and someone took Tanne from me as I coughed my guts out, the air I breathed was fine until the end when my Eneru was so low that I had to dispel my air bubble to escape.
Laveki pushed me onto a stretcher and I was taken to a hospital. I was given a potion that cleared my throat and I left in the same day. I made my way back to the mansion when I noticed a Display replaying something in Gluaze Common with Eiovian subtitles.
"If you think that the attack today was the last one, you would be wrong. We'll come knocking soon enough."
The Display cut to a Eiovian reporter talking about the clip and I left.
'The Eiovian authorities are already hard at work justifying a war with Gluaze. Buncha war hawks if you ask me.'
I sat in my soft chair and put my hands behind my head.
"I guess I'm off work until they can rebuild the workshop, I'll check out my golems tomorrow and probably upgrade them."
********
I woke up the next morning in my chair. I called over Fent, my greater golem that I built on the Dragon. I had changed some things with Golem Glass to make it fit my new building style better. I ejected it's spirit core and said the phrase that I'd become known for.
"Inspect"
Master Golem.

Nervous System: Imbued steel, acts as cooling and can pulse heat or cold periodically.
-Individual parts-
{Head}

Armored: Steel
-Statistics-
Armor Integrity: 98%
Eneru Efficiency: 69% (40 hours idle, 6 hours strained.)
Top Speed: 24 kph
Coolant efficiency: 100%
Core Capacity: Superior
Core Minimum: Greater
"That Coolant efficiency gets me every time," I said with a cheesy smile. "Ften, the spirit in the nervous system, handles all that efficiently."
"Well the Eneru efficiency needs work so I guess I can do that." I put my hand on Fent's chest and started rewiring until I got the Eneru efficiency up to 77%. This didn't come without sacrifice, the coolant efficiency went down to 95%.
"Damn it, I liked seeing that number. The increased work time is worth it though."
Knock Knock!
Someone was at my front door. I opened it and a government official stood there.
"What is it?"
"I'm here for Ingen Meiung, the president wishes to see you."
