Chapter 4 - Beautiful

'I open my eyes to see a beautiful lady. She was standing next to me caeassing my cheek and smiling. "Hello, my names Morgana, you must be Anika." She says. I smile nodding. For some reason I felt calm around her. "Yes, your mother has told me so much about you." She says and my eyes widen. My hands hold her wrist that was on my cheek. "You've spoke to my mother? How is she? Can I see her?" I bombard her with questions." She giggles at me. "You are a lot like your mother. You look like her as well. Beauty that lines you body from head to toe. Flaws making you more unique" She says and I smile, my face flushing at the compliment. No ones ever said I looked beautiful. It would usually be the opposite. She looks at me smiling a beautiful smile. "You are where you need to be. Live your best life here. You won't regret it." She says. "Here?" I ask and she nods. "Here in the palace." My eyebrows furrow in confusion. "What why can't I stay here?" I ask. "Haha oh no, no one can stay her forever. This is the mindscape. A very dangerous place. You stay here too long and you see things you wish you never had. Even if you still stay, your human body will perish eventually, and it'll take your soul with you. Wasting all the time you spent here." She advices and I nod understanding. "Ok but why should I stay in the palace?" I ask. "You'll grow to love it here. The people as well. You belong here, you will see that eventually." She says and I wake up.

I look and see someone standing over me and feeling threatened, I trip them, then stand up and put my foot on their stomach. I rub my eyes getting a clearer vision but not before people snatch my arms taking me to the side. I groan. "What the hell?" I say at the sun shining in my eyes. "Geez, you even wake up causing trouble." I hear someone grumble and my eyes get accostomed the light only for me to see Golden spoon. I close my eyes once again. "And the sight of you gives me a migraine. Shall I continue?" I say opening my eyes again and cringing at him. He clenches his jaw.

"Hurry up, the King moved your court earlier." He says stepping out. I walked behind him two guards behind me. "Geez are you really that paranoid you have two other men follow you?" I taunt. I hear him scoff. "I am not—" "shh." I say putting a finger to my lips. He turns around annoyed. "Would you—" I cover his mouth looking around. I hear it again a clicking kind of sound. I look around but see nothing. Arthur looks around as well and doesn't see anything either. "Are you trying to make a fool of me-" "DUCK!" I yell and I bring Arthur down with me. A split second after he gets down and arrow goes right where his head would have been hitting the wall behind him. I grab one of the guards swords and run to the corner of the hall ignoring the pain on my waist. I turn the corner and see the tip of a cloth poking out of the a corner a little farther. I look back at Arthur putting a finger to my lips he nods his brows furrowed. I take quiet steps forward and quickly turn to meet a man an empty crossbow cliched to his chest. "Put it down." I say sternly and he listens. Looking nervous. "I-I'm so sorry!" He starts but I zip my lips, basically telling him to shut up. I grab it from the floor and grab his arm pulling him to where the guards and Arthur were. "Looks like I won't be the only one having a talk with the king." I say shoving the guy in front of me. While the guys were focused on the man my vision blurs and I lose my balance I hold onto the wall looking at my wound. There was blood coming out like Gaius said would happen if I moved too much. I sighed turning back to them. "Well let's go then can't keep Uther waiting." I say my vision clearing. I walk infont of them to where the thrown Room was.

The doors are opened and the guards step to the side of the doors. Arthur steps in front of me walking ahead with the man following close behind. Uther glared at me from where he sits and I return it. I wobbled in my spot where I was in front of the king. "How do you plead?" He asks sternly. I put my fingers above my eyes trying to get my body to cooperate with me. "To what am I pleading for?" I ask the same tone as him. I definitely do not want to get charged for sum I didn't do. "For attacking my son." He says. And I nod. "I plead guilty." I say. He claps his hands. "Well then why do we need court for this-" " but I attacked him with reason." I say and he looks at me. "And it is." He says waiting for me to continue. "I felt threatened. For his manservant, Merlin, surprised me and I had felt threatened. And while dealing with Merlin Arthur came in to help Merlin. So it ended with me attacking Arthur in self defense." I say, my vision blurred again and I tried blinking it to clear it up. "That does change matters quite drastically." Uther says thinking. "Father I have something else to add." Arthur says. Uther looks at his son expectantly. "She saved my and those two knights lives today. If I were to speak she has already paid for her crimes." He says, or I think so. My senses were fading and my body felt weak. I tried fighting against it but it was getting hard. "Well then Anika, you should be free by now, but I feel I should give you something in return for the life of my son." Uther mumbles barely audibly. Merlin takes a look at my condition. I was wobbling and had my hands on my head. "Anika?" He says but it sounded distant. "Ani...ka..." and then everything went black.

I wake up in a room that I recognized as Merlins. I tried getting up but a pain in my waist overwhelmed me. "Ahh!" I yelp at the suden pain. Guinevere steps in looking concerned. "Anika! Your awake! How are you feeling?" She asks squatting next to me. "With this, not very well." I say throwing my head back trying to relax. My shirt was still stained but I felt something else under it. I lifted it and saw bandages wrapped around my waist with a bit of blood stained on it. "Ah yes. Gaius decided that Stitches gave you too much ability to move. You should stay in bed for a while." She says. I nod. "If I get to sleep in a bed this comfortable I'm fine with anything." I say sighing and leaning back into the bed. "Aren't most beds made like this?" Guinevere asks. I nod. "Yes but I've never slept in one. I've either slept on the floor or one I made. So it's a nice change." I say snuggling up into the comforts of the bed. She giggles at my actions. "Would you like something to eat? I made breakfast." She says and my eyes open. "Breakfast? How long was I asleep?" I say looking at her. "You've been passed out since yesterday morning when you had the court with the King." She says and I look at her bewildered. "Ah ok. Well breakfast would be nice, thank you." I say laying down. She smiles and leaves the room.

Shortly she returns with a plate of eggs and bread. "Thank you so much Guinevere, it looks delicious." I say smiling at her. "Yes, enjoy." She says and leaves the room after helping me sit up. I wat my food and look out side. Usually I'd be at school. They taught basic math and geometry but I found it really interesting in general. I lay down once more, closing my eyes. Sleep overtook me another time and I slept a dreamless sleep.

I wake up once more but this time is was dark outside I looked at my wound and say it was newly bandaged, the bloodstains it had before gone. I smelled some thing horrid though. I looked down and took a sniff. I gagged. 'It's me' o cringed. 'How did I stink this bad in only a day?' I think I say up but felt little to no pain on my waist. I was confused but thought it was just numb or something. I stand up carefully putting on my boots to avoid hurting my wound. I opened the door and walked out to see Guinevere on the table sleeping. I decided not to bother her, as I walked out of the room. I left the palace but didn't have any intent of not going back. I walked to near the edge of the town where my small cottage held its ground. I walked in and grabbed a bucket. I filled it with water and walked out. I removed my bandaging and clothes. When I looked down I saw no stitches simply a line of marked skin. Another scar. I smiled but it faded when I realized something. "How would this have healed in a day?" I ask myself. I wash myself, having a mild hassle as it was dark. When I finished I dried myself with a price of cloth then dressed in my undergarments. I walked into the cottage and entered my 'bedroom' where I kept my clothes. I grabbed a clean white blouse and put it on. I got a pair of pants and put those on too. When I was done I dried my hair combing it and letting it do as it pleases. I get my dirty clothes and wash it by hand inside with the light of the fire. I decided I would throw away the blouse as the stains weren't leaving. But I left the pants and my boots to dry by the fire place. I say there a bit thinking about everything.

I sighed getting up, " I'll have to see what Uther will do with me." I say. I enter my 'bedroom' and grab my extra pair of boots. I slipped them on and made my way back to the palace. I went inside and went to the court physicians room. I entered as quietly as I could. I looked to see Guinevere still asleep on the table. She looked extremely exhausted. I picked her up as quietly as I could and went to Merlins bedroom door. Arthur came in looking surprised. "What are you-" he says loudly but I give him a face that told shut up. I turn around facing him showing him Guinevere. He nods and I continue to open the door to Merlins room. I lay her on the bed and cover her with the blanket. Arthur was at the door to Merlins room watching Guinevere intently. I point to the other room and he nods walking away. I take one last glance at Guinevere before closing the door and sitting at the table across from Arthur.

"Where are Gaius and Merlin?" I ask him hushed. "Gaius is with my father discussing about you. Merlin is doing his work and I came to... che...ck up on Guinevere." He says slowly. I raise an eyebrow at him smirking. "Oh really? How husbandly of you." I say teasingly and it just earns a glare from him. I smile at his antics. I look at the door where Guinevere was sleeping behind. I smile even wider. "Do you ever wonder what a good queen Guinevere would make?" I say making exaggerated eyes at Arthur. Basically giving him a sign that I was just joking. But he looked as if he was actually giving it some thought. "Well she would, she's caring, stubborn, beautiful..." he stops when he notices me looking at him a big grin on my face. "Oh beautiful, I know she'd be honored to hear that from the prince himself." I mock. He glares. And I give him a sheepish smile. "Do you know what your father would do to me?" I ask. The question was bugging me for a while. "He says he wouldn't have you in the dungeon anymore but I don't know what he wants to do with you." He says and I sigh. "Can I go home at least?" I beg. "I believe so. But if you are wanted your presence would be mandatory."he say looking at the door. "Well I'll leave you to watch over your wife." I say quickly walking to the door. "Hey!" He yells. And I smile.

"Wait Anika how is the progress of your wound?" He asks. I face him lifting my shirt revealing the scar it left. "Not much. But I don't know how it healed in a day." I say putting my shirt back down smiling. He furrows his eyebrows. "What do you mean a day?" He asks. "Well hasn't it only been a day?" I ask.

"Anika you fainted two weeks ago."
