Chapter 13 - Thirteenth

"A belief is the conviction of the truth or reality of a thing, based on grounds insufficient to afford positive knowledge… I want everyone of you to expound what this means for our next meeting, all right? Class dismissed." Tamitha's professor announced, but Tamitha's too occupied to hear it.

She only came back to her senses when she saw her block mates leaving the room. "Miss Hunter, can I have a word with you?"

Tamitha fixed her things first before approaching her professor. "How are you doing? Are you alright? You've been spacing out the entire class. Is still thinking about the accident? Do you want me to schedule you a meeting with the school's psychologist?" Miss Clara bombarded Tamitha with a question, making her scratch her cheeks lightly before answering.

"I'm fine Miss Clara, I just didn't get enough sleep last night because I'm coming up with my next project. But thanks for asking, Miss." Tamitha lied. Her professor's right, she's still shook up with what happened to her, but she didn't want anyone to worry.

"Is that so?" Tamitha nodded. Miss Clara let out a deep sigh before letting Tamitha go. She even asked Tamitha to rest for a while. Luckily, this was Tamitha's last subject for today, leaving her with no choice but to rest in their dorm.

She has no clue how that happened. How Pollux could save her in time, knowing that Pollux was far from the stage? How was he able to grab her away from being smashed by that spotlight? She's frustrated because after that incident she can't see Pollux anywhere anymore. He's like hiding away from her, not wanting to see her.

She's now on her way to their dorm, she's like a zombie right now because of her eye bags and how lazily she walks. As soon as she arrived to her room, she went straight to the bathroom and washed her face to cool it off. She then took a clean cloth and swiped it to her wet face.

When she raised her head and looked up into the mirror, she saw a piece of paper stuck to the mirror. "Fotíste to fos, kratíste to foteinó, to epómeno prágma pou xérete óti to cheie tha anavosvínei brostá sta mátia sas."

Her forehead creased trying to read the words, but she didn't understand a thing. She placed the piece of paper to her bed-side table. She got no time to worry about that right now. She just wanted to take a rest, she having a lot of stress right now and she doesn't want to add more to her plate.

She went ahead to her bed, laid flat face and tried to get her some sleep. And just like that, she's completely knocked out. Just like that too, the incident started flashing back to her dreams making her feel the same fear she felt while waiting for her death flashed through her, but ending up being saved by his mighty saviour.

It has been a week since the incident happened, and until now it's still haunting her. She can't get proper sleep because of this. It kept ringing to her ears, how Pearl shouted at the top of her lungs just to tell her to run away from it while resisting Castor's gripped trying to stop her from going near the stage.

That night definitely turned out not what they expected, but Tamitha still felt relieved that it harmed no one besides her, and it might have scarred her for life. But if history repeats itself, she would still make the same decision she did.

What she doesn't understand is, at first, why did she feel that unfamiliar sensation? How her body suddenly got all paralyzed. She knew that it scared her, but is it possible, that just because she's afraid she suddenly can't feel her body? Second, how in the hell Pollux saved her just as about the object would hit her, his in equal amount of distance. How can he arrive that fast? That's what frustrated her the most.

"Hey, T. Wake up…" Tamitha felt someone poking her face making her creased her forehead still half asleep she tried removing that person's hand away from her.

"Come on, Tamitha, wake up." The person called once more. Tamitha groaned and shifted her position away, totally ignoring the person. "Tamitha, get up! Let's get you something to eat. You have eaten nothing yet."

Tamitha groaned loudly. "Five more minutes." She lazily whispered. "Tamitha, wake the hell up!" This time she heard a girl's voice earlier, she's hearing a husky voice.

She slowly opened her eyes and looked around. She sat up her bed still not in her right mind; she covered her face, trying to get herself recovered from suddenly walking her up.

"What do you want? Why are you here? I'm still sleepy." Tamitha being all cranked up. "I'm sorry. Pearl's just getting worried about you. She asked me to take you both to dinner."

"D-Dinner?" Tamitha got up and looked at her window to see that the sun was already down. She sighed and sat back to her bed. "I slept that long, huh?"

"Was it a good sleep? Pearl told me you have gotten no sleep for the past week."

"I don't know. I–I don't know… The incident kept replaying in my head. I can't make them to stop."

The lad sighed. Knowing he can't do something about that. "I-I'm sorry to hear that." Tamitha looked at Castor intently, making the man uncomfortable. "Have you contacted your brother already?" Seeing how much hope reflecting in Tamitha's eyes made him hesitate to answer.

She stood up near Castor, still waiting patiently for his answer. He let out a deep sigh before answering, making Tamitha's hope crushed into thin air.

"H-He's still not reaching out Tamitha–but I promise you the moment my brother contacts me, I'll tell you right away, all right? Now cheer up." Tamitha's shoulder slumped and went back to her bed.

"Come on, if it will make you any better, I will give Pollux a good amount of beating for suddenly ditching you." Tamitha sighed and gave Castor a soft smile before asking the lad to wait for her outside.

She wore a fluffy sweater and partnered it with a black jeans and sneaker.

"I'm ready." She announced the moment she got out of her room. She saw Pearl and Castor waiting for her in the living area. "Great! Let's go then." Castor invited.

"By the way Tammy, someone sent you a mail. It's in our counter."

"Really? Who's it from?" "I don't know, only your name's written on the envelope." Tamitha's forehead creased, getting all curious who could have sent her the mail.

She looked for the mail Pearl's saying along of the bunch of mail they received for the past weeks. Finally, a white envelope only with Tamitha's name on it. "What's in it?" Castor went near the lass and asked her.

Tamitha opened it only to see a piece of paper on it. Making her creased her forehead more. 'What the hell is this?' She whispered. She looked at it for a good minute and there was it. A foreign word started appearing in the paper. Similar to what she just saw in her bathroom earlier.

"What the hell?" Tamitha being appalled with what just happened. "What? What happened?" Pearl getting concern.

"Did you see what just happened?!" She asked Castor, who's getting creeped out with Tamitha's action. "W-What do you mean?"

"Some words started appearing in the paper! Look!" She let Castor looked at it, but the lad see nothing. He even tried squinting his eyes still not seeing what does Tamitha mean. He scratched his head getting confused what he should be look at.

"I can't see anything, Tammy. It's blank." She scrunched her nose, not believing Castor. "Let me see." Pearl tried looking at it too, but both can't see what Tamitha's saying.

"Are you for real? There are some weird words on the paper! Why can't you see it?! I saw something like this on my bathroom too. They're exactly the same!" Tamitha started panicking, walking back and forth.

"Are you guys pranking me?"

Castor and Pearl looked at each other, getting concern with Tamitha's action. "All right, T, we'll talk about this later, okay? I think we should have something to eat first. Stop stressing yourself."

Pearl tried calming her, which she eventually did. Tamitha agreed and left the note on the counter and head out with her friends. She doesn't want any stress anymore, but why does it keep piling up? She tried enjoying the dinner and completely forgetting about the letter she received that only she could see. Everything starting to get weirder and weirder for Tamitha.

The war is starting…
