Every day their schedule was the same in which Leo would come and accompany Karol right after his business.
Out of nowhere, Karol who was busy munches her pickle coated with dark chocolate while her eyes glued at the TV asked;
"Leo, don't you feel bored accompany me?"
"No, why?"
"Nothing, just asking"
The night ends and as usual, Karol will see Leo out at the front door and bid their goodnights and say see you tomorrow before parting ways before she head over to her bedroom and fall asleep peacefully but not tonight.
As Karol was keeping all of her things organised before leaving the place in less than 24 hours then suddenly her phone blare making her curse.
"Hello,"
"Get out from there now. He's coming to get you"
"How far is he?"
Asked Karol as she quickly zipped up her luggage, thank her brilliant and often looks over her shoulders, she has mastered the arts of running away with the minimal things to carry and keep things in the luggage as soon as she finished using it.
"Around 30-45 minutes depends on the driver's speed"
"Got it, buy my plane ticket now,"
Karol then quickly grabbed her food into a zip lock bag, her top necessity for the trip as she place them inside her handbag.
"Done. I've emailed it to you"
"Get someone down here to arrange my check out,"
Said Karol as she is by the door, shutting everything off and off she goes living the fully stock apartment behind.
"Done"
"Thank you guys, what would I've done without you guys"
Said Karol before she hangs up the call, leave the apartment keys on top of the kitchen table and get out of the apartment.
"Fuck!" said Karol a curse loudly as she is inside the lift.
She then exit the lift, walk as fast as her pregnant self could do towards her car before she curse loudly again; "Why the fuck is he here now!" before she zooms out from the apartment basement.
"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck"
Karol couldn't help but curse out loud as she arrived at the airport via VVIP lane which brings her direct to boarding the plane and flying out from that place without any remorse.
The next day, after waking up in another country, Karol video called her parents and inform them about her whereabouts and what had happened.
"So now you're okay right?" asked Anna for the nth time.
"Yes mummy I'm okay and so does your grandchild and yes daddy I can hear your thoughts,"
"We just want you both to be safe and sound,"
"If you find it hard to be alone there do come back okay baby girl,"
"We promise we will put up a barricade 100 meters from our house,"
"Don't worry you two and I will come home just not now okay?"
"Okay baby girl, we respect your decision but if you need anything and we meant anything just don't forget to call us okay?"
"Of course mummy daddy I will always remember and I will call you two. Anyway, I got to go now, I'll talk to you two later okay,"
"Okay baby girl bye, we love you both,"
"Bye, we both love you too,"
As soon as she ended the call Karol burst out crying, missing her parents, missing her family and most importantly missing their warmth.
The whole day was filled with Karol waking up eating, feeling hopeless, angry at herself and crying for hours before she falls asleep.
Then she wakes up and the cycle repeats for few times for the whole day, a few hours after crying herself to sleep, she woke up with a bad eye bag and hungry as a horse so she decided to order take-outs before she quit for the night.
The whole week Karol buries herself in her work in which the opening of the new branch at Filtarn State.
Her day was hectic most of it because of her job where she needs to review everything, rethink everything related to the new branch.
Weeks after weeks and it's was almost at her end of the third trimester as she almost due any time.
All of the sudden as Karol was busy with her task her phone rang.
"Hello" answer Karol without looking at the caller ID.
Immediately she was greeted by an urgent yet tired voice of Leo at the end of the line;
"Karol, where are you?"
"Somewhere safe, why?"
"Where have you been? I've been trying to get on hold of you and all I get is voice mail"
"Didn't I tell you that I'm doing this travel around the world before my PhD thingy? You okay Leo?"
"I'm okay, it's just that. Can you please come home?" said Leo in a pleading tone.
"Leo, I will come back home just not now okay so stay calm and collective,"
"Can you tell me where are you right now so that I can visit you?"
Karol replied in a firm tone; "Sorry but no".
"Okay," said Leo in a sad and defeated tone.
"Let's chat when I have time okay Leo, I got to go now. Bye"
"Okay, Karol, bye and take care"
Karol then looks outside of the window releasing a long breath while enjoying her solace time alone before her baby starts to turn and play with her bladder.
She then soothingly rubs her belly trying to calm her overactive baby down in which didn't help.
She started to have fake Braxton hicks contractions. It was as if the feeling like mild menstrual cramps or a tightening in the stomach that comes and goes.
The whole night Karol continue to rub circles on her belly trying to soothe her cramps and her emotions but she couldn't help but feel alone and helpless so she decided to call her sister.
"Yo sissy, good morning,"
"Why in the world you call me in the middle of the night?" said a very sleepy Sharon at the end of the line.
"It's past 5 am dude, it's not that early. Anyway, before you go back to sleep I just want to inform you that when you are at your office do call me okay"
Said Karol as she continuously rubs circle on her bump.
"This better be a big deal or else I might kill you for disturbing my sleep time"
Karol smiled at her sister's never change of attitude of wanting more of her sleeping beauty time, she murmur; "Bye, love you" then hangs up the phone.
"This will definitely be huge and she'll be in shock the moment she sees you, my little prince or princess,"
Karol look down at her belly as she said to herself and the baby that was squirming around as if responding to her.
