Chapter 2 - DREAM 2: So what is it like, in your world?

PORTAL LAND

Ethan: So Hana tell me, what is it like in your world?

Hana: Do you believe in magic? Because if you don't then, you'd be laughing at me.

Ethan: At this point, I might as well believe that Neil Armstrong really landed on Moon! My dreams are gonna be a portal to another dimension for a month, you think believing in magic will be tough for me?

Hana: *chuckles* I know what you're talking about! So what is it like, huh?

Ethan: Do you stop existing after these dreams end?

Hana: Exactly!

Ethan: oh my God, now this is hard to believe!

Hana: Things are a lot more complicated than you think.

Ethan: I don't believe that I'm saying this, but now I'm really afraid to ask what kind of creature you are.

Both of them started to feel a little uncomfortable after having a conversation so inconceivable. Ethan's half-opened eyes were sparkling while pointing towards an undetectable source of blazing light. The cotton shirt he wore, was trying to blow away because of the breeze which was turning into the wind; his fair body was now getting the chills- and he was constantly regretting not wearing something thicker before going to sleep. Hana's pastel green dress seemed as light as her expressions, her gorgeously beautiful hair was flowing in the same direction as the wind and her dress. She had long, volume-layered, black-blue hair and had ocean blue eyes. They were standing by the bridge- again- one holding the fence and the other resting his arms on it.

Hana: You better not ask! *laughs*

Ethan: So where will you go after this ends?

Hana: Depends on you!

Ethan: How?

Hana: Aah don't get so worked up here, let's explore, shall we? We couldn't go around the realm in the last dream because of your alarm.

Ethan: How do you know it was my alarm, oh my God I'm freaking out!

Hana: YOU ASK TOO MANY QUESTIONS! Calm down! let's go see what we have around here, otherwise, you might wake up again.

They both started to walk towards the winter side, at the end of the bridge, while Ethan still had questions unanswered.

Hana: Wanna know how there're two seasons going on at the opposite sides of the bridge, at the same time?

Ethan: Yeah but you'll tell me that I ask a lot of questions, so I won't ask you anything from now on, I guess.

Hana: You are not a patient creature, are you? So, the two seasons are our mental representation.

And the ambiance in the bridge area is the mood we tend to have while we stay connected. Remember how the wind was lifting when you got frustrated for wondering what kind of creature am I? Yeah, if you get confused or mad or anything negative, the ambiance changes as well, it takes the form of your mental health and mood at that instant moment.

Ethan: Woah that's pretty interesting to know!

Hana: See the perks of founding me!

Ethan: Oh don't go down that road, I still don't know how I found you.

Hana: It's better not to be thinking about it!

Ethan: So, the seasons represent our mental healths huh? Was my one winter or summer? Lemme guess winter resembles sorrow and summer is happiness, but no that would be spring right?

Hana: Yes winter for sorrow, spring for happiness, fall for extreme despair and confusion and well rain, it isn't seen much in here, happens when you lose someone- not from the world, but from your heart, more accurately if you remove that individual from your heart. And well, yes you're one is winter and mine is summer, as it's the kind of state which doesn't lie in any of the human feelings, so yeah!

Ethan: Okay easy to understand.

Hana: Do you like the winter realm though? You haven't complimented it once.

Ethan: It's exactly like what I feel inside, how can I compliment something which is mine.

Hana: Woah this dream is lasting longer than I thought!

Ethan: What, you're getting tired already, doesn't it feel good to exist?

Hana: No I'm not! Your last dream was short-termed, that is why I was saying.

Ethan: Maybe because I was having the dream at the very end of my REM phase. Pardon my heart for arousing a question again, does the timing of this portal land and earth match by any chance?

Hana: Oh well looks like you have to wait a day to know this, hope to see you soon, farewell!

Ethan: But-

Ethan's alarm rang and brought him back again. He headed to school like any other day, whilst he could not stop analyzing all the intel he collected, it got from zero to infinite for him.

JOHNABURG HIGH SCHOOL

Ben: Hey mate! I'm surprised to realize that I've fallen in love!

Ethan: I never got this excited in centuries! So who's that poor soul? Lemme guess, Lexie?

Ben: IT'S LEXIE!

Everyone stared at him, getting a hunch of exactly what the two of them were talking about.

Ethan: *sighs* well keep it low unless you want her to know.

Ben: Well yeah I do!

Ethan: OKAY, just as expected as our Ben! *chuckles* so when is the lucky moment?

Ben: Well..um..what lucky moment?

Ethan: You're gonna confess to her, won't you? Or do you want her to follow the rumor people will spread after seeing you go crazy?

Ben: Oh yes, I forgot that I gotta make a confession, hmm how do I do that? Should I ask her to meet me after school?

Ethan: Yes that sounds good. Listen I'm glad you're doing this, I saw you crushing over her since what, grade school?

Ben: Yeah man, I really like her. I just hope she accepts it!

At the end of the period, Ben proceeds to Lexie to ask her to meet him after school at the courtyard.

Lexie: Hey Ben, I was going to say you the same thing too! Only you've to do me a little favor!

Ben: YES ANYTHING!

Lexie: Bring Ethan along with you, okay?

Ben: Umm..okay?

Lexie: Well then see you after school? Bye!

Lexie was a year junior to Ben and Ethan. Ethan never really talked to anyone else in school, it was only Ben he had- as his partner. Whereas on the other hand, Ben was an extrovert; he and Lexie were friends from kindergarten since their mothers had been best friends. So to sum it up, Lexie was the only girl Ben was close with, even though he was an extrovert, his spontaneous personality pushed the majority of people away.

Later that day, Ben asked Ethan to accompany him, although Ethan was confused, Ben persuaded him. "What are best buddies for, huh?", said Ben to Ethan, while he still was in the dark about Lexie asking him to bring Ethan with him.

Ethan: Quite fortunate of you for getting confessed by the girl "You're going to confess" on the same day! I'm so going to enjoy this!

Ben's immature mind could not really read Lexie's intention. He didn't bother to spend another minute worrying about that, instead, he was composing himself for his "lucky" moment.

THE BASKETBALL COURTYARD

Ben: So Lexie the reason why I summoned you here today was-

Lexie interrupted while she saw Ethan standing at a considerable distance away from them.

Lexie: Ben why don't you ask Ethan to come here? He's the subject today, isn't he?

Ben: Well I can call him here but- how is he the subject?

Lexie: I'm going to avow that I like him silly, why else would I tell you to bring him?

A great wave of wind hit them and Ben stood there- numb.
