Chapter 1 - Grimm Street

It was a gloomy morning. The streets were dusted with fog and patches of faint light. It was a great morning to find yourself in a room, cooped up and embedded in your bed. Though the fog was dense, but the air was fresh as ever. I was drinking some warm milk tea to mark the beginning of my retirement. I spent the last ten years trying to serve justice at the IB of Scotland Yard aka The Metropolitan Police, I deserved this break. I seated myself on my armchair thinking about the pleasures of spending life in some idleness. I wasn't used to 'relaxing', being a head officer keeps you busy enough to even think about leisure. Just then I got a phone call. I picked my phone to see Commissioner Fierro's name light up on the screen.

"Good morning sir.", I said peacefully, awaiting his wishes for my retirement. "Fair Morning Commander. I have some news for you.", He said pompously. "Why that's surprising... Last time I checked I was on retirement duty since yesterday. You said so yourself.", I said suspiciously. "Sorry for the inconvenience Commander, but we have a case we need you to solve. It's getting out of hand, We need some experienced officers on this case. You will head this operation.", the Commissioner said rather robustly. "With all due respect sir, I was promised a retirement. I ought to get one after the cases I've been solving the past six days, don't you think?", I asked, taken aback greatly. "Again, I apologize for the sudden case. I think you deserve a break of course, but this case needs you. It's been a distress to the local offices at Grimm street. This case has potential of being a hard one to crack. Since money doesn't appeal you, I will make sure that you will be given the liberty to retire as soon as you analyse this case if you don't want to solve it.", he persuaded. "Grimm street officers? This is a locality murder case? Sir, you have got to be kidding me. I've solved cases for the Queen and for various other countries, and you expect me to solve this measly case?", I ranted. "Commander, if you knew me well, you know I would never joke about a case... This case isn't as easy as it seems. Probably the most gruesome one we have witnessed. The details will be sent to your Police ID's email. Good luck Commander Boris.", he cut the call. What did he mean 'most gruesome case'? Does he really think this case is hard to solve?...

Grimm Street, I'm coming for you.
