David did not answer, he just turned around, his back facing Alice and began to walk away. What could he possibly say? The boy who pretended to be high and mighty, someone who did not fear anyone and based on his intellect he considered everyone to be beneath him he had been humiliated in such a way he would never forget. Alice didn't speak either, she just followed him, a few steps behind him as she waited. She would have to say something at some point but pressuring him would only make things worse for her. At the end of the day she might have won but no one guaranteed her that he would actually not betray her. She needed to appeal more. To make him her friend or else he could leave and go back to Saaha at any time.
With big leaps she caught up to him, strolling next to his side. He stole a glance at her and Alice smiled, wanting to seem friendly. He scoffed and started walking faster, agitated by seeing her face.
