We stepped into the water and made indentations on the wet sand. Our footprints paved a path of two lovers walking under the sanctuary of constellations. His warm hand laced with mine and my long curls was swept by the ocean air. His twinkling eyes simulated the precarious water breaking at our ankles. We talked about the past, the present, and the future. We were carried away by topics after topics. The next time that he checked his watch, it had been few minutes past midnight.
"Let's get back to the car," he huddled me.
"Thank you so much for today. I don't want the day to end yet. I don't wanna have to say goodbye to you," I buried my face in his well-built chest.
"You don't have to. You can spend the night at my place," he kissed the top of my head.
"Really? But I have nothing to wear."
"You can borrow my clothes. You'll look so cute in an oversized shirt," he squeezed me tighter.
"I'm not that small!" I protested.
"Still small enough for me," he suddenly carried me and raced up the stairs.
We walked to the valet booth and dusted our feet off while we wait for the car. Seb took down the roof of his convertible to let the night air hit our faces. I drowned myself in his warm suit and admired the way the moon shone its light on his face. The top two buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned, and the wind exposed his bronze neck. His thin cotton shirt displayed the underlying and often hidden muscular upper body.
We reached his flat and we took turn to shower off the sweat and salt water off. He lent me an oversized patterned sweater that looked like a mini dress on me and his boxers. I made some microwaved popcorn when he showered, and we jumped into bed with our snack and mountains of blanket and pillows. He put on Netflix as we cuddled and munched on the marshmallow flavored popcorn. Seb struggled to set aside the bowl and turned the tv off as I feel asleep in his arms. He tried his best not to wake me up.
"Sweet dreams, my princess, he kissed me goodnight.
I woke up to an empty bed while hugging a pillow dressed in Sebastian's grey t-shirt from last night. The bedroom door opened to reveal a bare-chested chef holding a tray of food.
"Morning. Hope you like waffles and blueberries," he set the tray on a foldable table.
"Oh, you're so sweet. I could've helped you made breakfast," I kissed him.
"My pleasure, beautiful."
"I just woke up! I must've looked hideous."
"You're always pretty to me, darling," he kissed my hand.
We finished our breakfast and carried the dishes to the kitchen. I was washing the dishes when he hugged me from behind and whispered in my ear.
"I have something for you."
I rinsed the dishes and set it on the drying rack before turning to him. He stood in the middle of the room, towering over me with something in his clasp.
"I've been wanting to talk about this, but I have never had the courage to until now," he opened a small velvet box.
"Oh my God! Sebastian!" I gasped and cupped my mouth.
"When words run dry, he does not try, nor do I. We are on par. He just is, I just am, and we just are. Isabelle, will you promise to always be by my side through happiness and pain, loneliness and festivity, joy and despair, and through blessings and sufferings?" he pulled out a rose gold heart-shaped knot ring.
"I promise," my eyes teary.
"Do you promise to let me be by your side through your ups and downs?"
"I do. But won't you be bored or lonely with only me in your life?" I doubted.
"It's never lonely on the side of love," he put the ring on my finger.
I gave him a long and sturdy hug as I sniffled in the overwhelming emotion.
"I love you so much" he wiped my eyes.
"I love you more," I kissed him passionately.
"I love you most."
