Chandler's POV
I decided to call Yejenia's boyfriend but unfortunately I don't have his contact, and I have considered to call Aurisse too but she can't be stress, her pregnancy is sensitive, so I think to went to his house but I don't know if he still lives there. I should try.
I immediately started the engine and drove fast. Who's going to do that to her? What about euthanasia! Damn!
"Hugh!" I knocked on the door in repetition. I continued to yell until the door was opened. Instead of Hugh, a maid showed up. "Nandiyan po ba si Hugh?"
She shook his head, "Wala po rito, ay--ayun po!" I turned and saw Hugh hopped off his car. I ran towards him and asked him, "Hugh! Si Yejenia, tumawag ba sa'yo?"
"Hindi. Hindi nga rin siya nag-pa-kita sa date namin." He sadly answered.
"Call the police. I think she was kidnapped."
"What? My girlfriend's been kidnapped? By whom?" He curiously asked.
"I don't know. Get some help."
"Okay." Then, we both run to our car and drove away. Hugh will take care of that, and I will search furthermore about euthanasia. I may find some answers that Yejenia couldn't say to me or the google can't show. Then I will tell Ken and her family.
My hands are trembling. What in the world is happening?
I immediately hopped off the car and ran into the house. "Manang, nasaan na po library nitong bahay?" Tanong ko sa katulong namin.
Her eyebrows met and held her chin, "Wala na pong library. I-pi-na-lipat na po ni Sir ang mga libro sa office niya."
"Is it locked?"
"Hindi po, bakit naman po i-lo-lock ni Sir iyun?"
"Okay. Saan na 'yun?"
"Second floor, room 4, sir." Sagot ng katulong namin. Hindi ko na kasi kabisado itong bahay kaya tinatanong ko kung saan.
Pumunta na ako sa office ni Dad. I know Dad's books have the answers. He's fond of medical books. I searched the shelves and saw a thin book about euthanasia. I retrieved it and on page 32, the fifth passage says, euthanasia is illegal in the Philippines.
I dropped the book because of shock. What? If the euthanasia is illegal, why did the doctor recommend that? Was he trying to kill Ken illegally?
My feet voluntarily moved and brought me to my car, the book is still in my hand. I started the engine and it roared to life. I also dialed Thaddeus's number for the first time and told him to meet me in that hospital. That doctor needs to be imprisoned, if we agreed on it, Ken would die even if she had the chance to live.
F*ck!
I can't believe I have been so distracted and forgot to know more about it. I can't believe it. Why would he do that? And why? Is he mad at us?
I slammed the steering wheel redundantly because of anger. I've been stupid. So stupid. I screamed in frustration. I want to beat that f*cking doctor!
When I'm finally in front of the hospital, I neglected my car and just run inside. I stopped and asked the receptionist, "Where is Dr. Bry?"
"You have an appointment, Sir?"
"The hell! Tell me where he is!" I screamed, and made people looked at me queerly. "I'm sorry! But it's important, tell me please!"
"H-e's in 34th room. Left corridor." The receptionist stammered. I heard her call the security when I ran away from her. But I don't care.
As I nearly reached the 34th room, my anger rose and my fist clenched. If I see him, I will beat him up to death.
Fortunately, he is there. I grabbed him by the back and tossed him on the floor. I punched him on his nose and stomach. The people and nurses gathered around us. "Who are you!?" He asked me. Blood gushing out his nose. "Why are you doing this to me?"
I grabbed him my the collar this time. I saw my face reflection in his eyes: my forehead beaded with sweat, my teeth are grinding, and my eyes show anger. "You handled my girlfriend's case, didn't you?! And you recommended euthanasia! I found out it is illegal! Were you trying to kill her!?"
He got startled but he tried to hide it, "Who was your girlfriend? What are you talking about?"
I saw Thaddeus approaching, he wore his curious expression. "What is this all about, Chan?"
"Page 32, 5th passage." I answered and gave him the book in my pocket. "Read it now and you'll know."
I faced the doctor again, "Who was mu girlfriend? Are you still trying to be innocent? She is Kennedia Wyatt. You recommended euthanasia to us. You are a doctor, there's no chance you don't know that it is illegal so obviously you intentionally suggested that, you fool! Why did you do it?!" There are whispers in the crowd. Some of the nurses give him a disbelief look. "You won't answer me! I'll beat you to death and I will kill your family too if you don't--"
"I was just threatened like that! In-utusan lang ako! I apologize but I love my family!"
Thaddeus suddenly pushed me away and gave him a single but heavy punch, and he was knocked down. "F*ck you! You almost killed my friend! You deserve that!"
I came back from my senses and threw my hands in the air, "Why did you do that? How are we supposed to know more? You're unbelievable!" Instead of wasting my time arguing with him, I just walked out.
He trailed off behind me and talked, "Euthanasia is illegal. We should call the police and hold him there."
"Then call them. I must say this to Ken." Then, I hopped on in my car and drove again.
He was just threatened? By whom?
Then, an image flashed in my mind. I-Ianne? She was jealous of Ken because of me, right?
Maybe, flirting with me that day is part of her plan.
