Nick woke up Sunday feeling well rested and gawked at his phone that read 12:03 pm. He shook his head and rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't still asleep. He walked out of his room to find his mother concentrating on some paperwork at the dining table.
"You sure took your time getting out of bed." His mother said without glancing up.
"Yea, I guess I was just super comfy."
"Well you better get practicing. You have that camp coming up soon."
"Yesss I'm goinggg." Nick said waking towards the room with the giant grand piano. He sat down and practiced until sundown, bringing out some old pieces that he hadn't played in years with a feeling that wasn't hatred, but newly found passion from his experience with his new Ballad.
He found that the time flied and it was already sun down. Nick decided to unwind before jumping into bed and hoping to talk to L. It was the highlight of his day.
At 8:30 pm, Nick slid into bed with his phone in his hand. He sat up against the bed head and began to type to L.
N: Hey L!
L: OMG HE HAS ARISEN!!
N: Hahaha sorry I didn't message you. I woke up late and had to practice today.
L: No problem, man. I was too to be honest. May I ask you something?
N: For sure.
L: Who do you hang out with at school?
N: Oh. Um... well... No one I guess?
L: What? Why not?
N: Well... Everyone hates me and my only friend, you, is keeping themselves anonymous.
L: Wait, we're friends?!
N: Of course we are, dummy! Sadly, you're the only one I actually talk to. Other than Alex.
L: You don't mean Alex Alex right?
N: Yea I do...
L: I didn't know you and him were friends. Interesting.
N: No no no not like that. I've only talked to him once or twice when he was threatening me or whatever.
L: Shit, Nick I'm Sorry.
N: No it's fine! I'm pretty used to it now...
L: Well whenever they give you trouble...
N: Don't mind them, I know.
L: Good job :)
N: I'm gonna head off. I'll "see" you tomorrow?
L: Yea sure haha. Cya
That night Nick didn't dream of anything except a short moment where was was playing piano on a cloud. The sky was blue but it was more than that. It was full of colours he had never seen before. Colours that blended in with everything around it. Even the clouds looked especially special. But as soon as Nick's fingers pushed a key, the dream ended...
