Chapter 3 - High school bully *

Two weeks had passed since I came to this world.

At least, that brat, James, never told my parents about what happened to his hand. I bet he was ashamed of himself for getting beaten by his undeserving elder sister.

"Eve, where would you want to go for lunch?"

"Nowhere."

"Eve, are you still angry with me?"

"Why would I be angry with you?"

"We only went to watch a movie, and we couldn't reach you on the phone, it is not that we forgot to invite you."

"It's okay."

"Are you sure?"

"Yep"

I discovered more and more about the original Eve personality. She was dense and simple, with an inferiority complex and a desire to be loved by anyone who gave her a bit of care. Therefore, she was taken advantage of many times.

Her so-called best friends from high school were a bunch of hypocritical and shallow girls. I could tell by leagues their tricks and lies. Poor Eva was fooled many times by them.

They used their so-called friendship to do whatever they wanted inside the school while making Eve carry the whole responsibility. After all, as a member of the Lark family, the school wouldn't dare to do anything against her.

However, I was tired of looking at these girls' boring faces. I preferred to be alone.

The doors of the classroom opened and a boy with a nerdy appearance entered. Short brownish hair, and thick big glasses. Skinny with white pale skin and blue eyes. Even with that, he looked kind of cute.

I've been watching this guy for a few days now. Although he was adorable with good potential to become a handsome man, he was always glued to his computer making some interesting stuff. Therefore everyone called him a nerd.

I wanted to befriend him though, but when I tried, he ran away scared as if I were some kind of awful ghost.

"Hey nerdo, go buy us lunch."

"Yes, I want the cafeteria special today."

"Go quickly."

These girls are at it again. Should I give them a lesson in the name of the bullied ones?

"Dana."

"Yes, Eve?"

This girl was the one that forgot to call the original host and the leader of the little group, namely, the most two-faced one.

"Go buy me the 'special cake'."

"... you heard her, Nerdo."

"Dana, I told you to go buy it now."

"Eve?"

"Are you not going?"

I looked at her very firmly. Her eyes were shaking, but it was difficult to tell if it was because of fear or anger from the humiliation.

"Eve, we can send the Nerdo over there."

"So, you are not going…" I sighed wearily.

"Eve... I..."

"We are no longer friends. Go away."

The other girls were stunned. I bet they were deciding on who to betray. However, I was not interested in shallow friendships.

"Eve, this... how could you?"

"Go away. From this moment you are no longer my friend... Gina, go to the cafeteria for my piece of cake."

"Eve... I..."

"No?"

"This..."

"Mmmm, right... you are no longer my friend too. Next one."

The girls looked at me with angry faces. What? Is it that I am cruel? This is the fastest way for me to get rid of them.

"Well, as I see it, nobody will go. So, from now on, none of you are part of my group of friends, and, of course, you are no longer welcomed into my family anniversary party."

"You can't do this!"

"Why not? I was the one who invited you, even though your second-rate family did not have the qualifications to come. My mother was truly disgusted when I asked for the invitation. Now, she won't have to be. Also, I will take you off the list of my guests in every party, club, and store from my family."

These girls were using the connection to me to attend high-class parties and to have entrance to the most exclusive hotels and clubs. Eve had to beg her mother for almost a week for permission, but they always went alone without inviting her.

I bet they had already wasted a lot of money preparing their dresses. Heh, sweet revenge.

They all looked at me with anger.

"You can't do this! If you do, we are no longer your friends. You will be alone."

"I don't mind, but if you try something funny… well… I hope your family can bear the consequences."

They retreated and left the classroom scared.

Now, I was all alone. No friends, no people who want to befriend me, just some teens who feared me or more like feared my family, and some others who wanted to make connections and use me for their own gain.

I would usually not mind that, as I would do the same, but I felt disgusted when they tried to bully innocent people.

"What should I do now?"

I sat on the bench in the isolated garden of the school when the glasses guy from before appeared and sat beside me. I don't think he saw me, as he was carrying his laptop and writing something with one hand.

What is this guy doing? I looked at his computer and saw several lines of code and a video chat opened.

"Hey Vin, you have to send it by tomorrow morning."

"Yes, I know, I am working on it."

He started typing faster and faster, and I was quite impressed, but I doubt he would be able to send whatever he needed by tomorrow morning with so many mistakes.

"No, that's incorrect."

"Where?"

I pointed my finger to the line of code, and he nodded.

"Whoa, who is that beauty?"

"Which beauty?"

"The one beside you, dude."

The one called Vin finally turned to look at me. His reaction was so funny that I tried so hard not to burst out laughing right there.

His pale face became even paler and his shaking hands almost threw the laptop if not for my quick reflexes. His lips were forming a circle and some sweat was running down his forehead. Then I saw him gulping.

Wow, this body's original host was something. How could she bring such incredible emotions from people?

What if this guy has a heart attack? No, I can't allow that.

"Breath man, breath."

"You... you..."

"Come on, I am not that scary, that guy over there said I was a beauty, didn't he?"

"I... I should go," the little man wanted to stand up, but his legs were shaking too.

"Sigh... I will leave. Don't need to hurry. Continue with your project or whatever, but... you made a lot of mistakes in the first two parts of your code, dude. You should correct them."

"How...."

He looked at the screen again and was astonished. He started typing again and I left him.

What a pity. I wanted to befriend him. He looked like an interesting guy. I am curious about what I did to him for him to be that shocked.

But more importantly, where will I find another place to pass the time?

The shade of that tree looks marvelous and safe. Let's give it a try.
