"Oh shit! The music was so loud, I had no idea my phone was ringing." She looked back at him and shrugged. She was so tired and simply wanted to get outside and away from the blaring music and dizzying neon lights.
"Yeah? Are you sure the music was too loud or you ignored my calls because you were busy talking to Wes?" Jean countered, a vein twitching in his neck as he tore his gaze from Wesley to look at Scarlett.
She was frowning heavily now. All of the tiredness and pain and anger she'd been trying to suppress by coming here in the first place finally floating back up to the surface.
