Jean sighed and looked away from her eyes. His anxiety levels were at their peak already. He wouldn't be able to do anything but worry all night if he wasn't sure she had some sort of protection. He simply couldn't let her go alone.
"Okay, then they'll be in a separate car behind you and Darren and wait till the party is over so they can escort you back. You honestly won't even know they're there." He held her hands again, hoping she would see reason and just listen to him. And she finally sighed and nodded.

"Okay? Have a great night. I'll come pick you up myself if I manage to slip out of the business party early." He rolled his eyes, resisting the urge to sigh in relief with a smile on his lips as he leaned forward to place a kiss on her lips.
"Have a great night too and don't rush to come pick me up. Enjoy the night as long as it lasts. Okay?" Scarlett gave Jean a pointed look to which He rolled his eyes again.
