Barbara and Scarlett looked at each other at the same time, the same expressions of pure shock mirrored on their faces and then Barbara looked back at the man sobbing in the floor, her eyes wide with tears gathering fast in them. He was getting back up to his feet now.
"Keenan?" Her voice shaky and unbelieving of the sight in front of her, Barbara asked as the man stood up straight again, the panic in his eyes now subdued as he struggled to pull himself together.
"Did you not get my letter?" The man turned to Scarlett, his dark deep-set eyes a perfect replica of hers, which now had a murderous look in them to replace the previous shock that had been mirrored in them. Barbara frowned, wondering what letter he was talking about. Was that what Scarlett had wanted to tell her about before he barged in?
"Well hello, father. Good morning to you too. How's life been?" Scarlett spoke through gritted teeth, sarcasm dripping off her words like venom.
