Chapter 14 - First Meeting II

Several students swarmed in all of a sudden.

"Hi, I am Ray Cameron."

"I am Martin Drachma," said a plump round faced boy.

"You Greek?" asked Sameer.

"No, French," he said.

"No, you must be Greek," Sameer pressed on.

"Why?"

"Drachma is the name of the Greek currency."

Two girls introduced themselves and went away, but one girl, with freckled face and red hair, stayed.

"I'm Margery Smollet," she shouted out loud startling everyone. "From America."

"Serenity," said Sameer softly, with a slight hint of sarcasm.

"That's your name?" the girl said wildly.

It was now her turn to get startled, as everyone started laughing.

"What's the matter?" she asked in general.

"Serenity means quiet happiness," said Martin vaguely.

"It's not a name," emphasized Dania.

"So?"

"It's refers to you," said Sameer. Everyone started laughing again.

"Why are you teasing me?" asked Margery bitterly. Wiping her tears, she rushed out of the compartment.

"This compartment was getting a bit too crowded," observed Sameer.

"I'd better go and see how she is," said Martin.

"Yeah, go and comfort Mamma's pretty darling," flung Sameer.

IT IS GOING TO BE FUN WITH SAMEER AND DANIA, thought Farnaz.

Sameer now addressed Ray, "So Signor Cameron, how do you do?"

"I'm fine," said Ray.

"You obviously do not realize that-" Sameer stated.

"Stop talking like madman," said Dania.

"Stop talking like the speaker of a documentary film," scolded Farzan.

"Shut up, rusty twins."

Before a quarrel ensued, Farnaz interrupted, "Where is Margery?"

"Weeping with Martin, I suppose," guessed Sameer.

"We shouldn't have teased her," said Dania rather half-heartedly.

"I disliked her on sight, and that's why I insulted her," stated Sameer.

"I disliked you on sight as well, and I still do," Dania told him.

"So?"

"I didn't insult you."

"You couldn't."

"Yes, I could."

"No, you could not."

"Yes, I could, four eyed beast of burden."

THIS IS MORE THAN AN INSULT. DON'T FLARE UP. SHUT HER UP!

"I would have insulted you in an even worse manner," he said grandly. "But I do not abuse even if I see others around me abusing and behaving like animals."

Ray giggled to see the looks on the twins' faces. They both looked murderous as a voice came on the train, "We have come to Cornwall."

There stood Cornwall as white and solid as ever. This time Sameer Mohammad didn't enter as a nervous stranger, he entered with the confidence of the brightest student of Cornwall.
