It was the screeching of tires that got me back to reality. We got our guns out ready to shoot if it was THEM (the enemy). We were relieved when we saw that it was only my father. We weren't ready to kill. Not now anyway.
"Welcome to your new home Sam, Rob, Sally and Luke" with that he took our luggage and put it in the car.
The ride was silent except for my father explaining that we would start training I about a week's time so we had time to get acquainted to our new surroundings.
I am scared. I only trust Sally, Luke and Rob. I trust nobody. Not even my father. You can see that he is also scared, that he is hiding something. Something important, something really important that it could change what is happening now. You can see that by the way he glances around him every now and then, by the way his hands shake, by the way he drums his fingers in the steering wheel.
I never spent a lot of time with my father but I can see that something is bothering him. I don't want to ask because I don't know how he'll react.
The radio goes on suddenly and I am terrified by what I hear "three million kids disappeared since last week. A few hundred of them were found dead with traces suggesting that it was THEM who killed them". My father suddenly shuts off the radio.

After about a two hour ride, we finally came to our new home. It was like a big house or a small manor. It seem very old but nevertheless, it was welcoming. There were police and army cars scattered everywhere on the grounds of the manor. Technicians are setting up traps if THEM decide to go near the manor. The is also lots of security measures being setup.
