Winnie wasn't exactly scared to die, she looked forward to seeing what happens after death. She's heard so many different possibilities of what waits for them in the "afterworld". She was never a religious sort, growing up, she used to scare Glen by telling him how his body would decompose. Ever since he was murdered though, she started hoping that there was something greater than themselves.
Sometimes she can feel him with her, when she's sad, or each time another innocent victim was murdered by the clock. She still talks to his picture every morning, she's never missed a day. The worst part about it, was that no one seemed to remember, and if they did, they didn't care. Of course they remembered the first boy who was killed, but they remembered the boy, not Glen Wilbert, not a kind, caring, selfless human being, but a victim.
It was hard walking down the streets, with no one to count on. Since that day, people have been so worried about their clock running out, that they don't even take the take to appreciate what they had.
