Ring!! Ring!!
As his phone rang, Su Ling averted his eyes from the computer screen and looked at his handphone. The caller was his guild master, also one of his university friends.
He picked up the call.
"Dude! That was fast!" Su Ling's voice was hoarse due to not being used for a long time and was unable to deliver the tone of his words. However, the man on the other side of the phone knew about it and thus didn't mind it at all.
'Are you kidding me!?' An excited shout came out of the speakers. Wincing a bit at the high pitched noise, Su Ling felt his ears ringing. Unable to see this, the man on the other side of the phone continued with his shout, 'You have done the impossible man! Ever since Dawn of Myths launched, I think you are the first one to ever achieve the highest rank on side professions.'
"Thank you!? I say, Quan, I am feeling stiff all over. Can you come to my home with drinks and snacks? I have been grinding for the past month and didn't have had a good dring ever since." Su Ling frowned as he worked on the kinks of his joints. The sound it made soothed his ears, making him feel very relaxed.
'Alright, I get it. I will also bring other brothers too.' Quan was very excited about Su Ling's achievement.
"Alright, I am going to bath. I smell. I can't even remember when was the last time I took a satisfying shower. See you later." With that said, Su Ling sighed and threw his expensive apple handset to his bed. After that, he stood up from his chair and moaned in pleasure as his knee joints relaxed from its previous position. Despite being a chair made for comfort and long time use, the human body has its own limit.
For the past month, to complete his in-game character's side-class advancement quest, he was spending more than twelve hours sitting on that chair. It was no wonder his body made all those satisfying sounds when he finally relaxed.
Zap!!
"Hmm!" All of a sudden, the lights in his room flickered. Then a burning smell came from nowhere.
"Fuck!" Su Ling couldn't help but curse loudly when he saw the source of the burning smell. It was his CPU. To a game addict like him, his PC was his treasure and his whole world. To see it burning was no different than seeing the whole world burning.
Throwing caution to the wind, Su Ling pulled out his chair and touched the edge of his CPU.
ZAP!!!
Suddenly, Su Ling was thrown across the room and slammed into the opposite wall. If one has to look at his body closely, then they would find smokes coming out of his eyes, nose, and even mouth. Moreover, he was not breathing anymore.
Su Ling, a 23 years old virgin, died just like that.
…
"Ugh! That was painful!!" Su Ling opened his eyes groggily, feeling pain all over his body. It was as if he had taken the place of a punching bag in a boxing gym and endured relentless punches from a trainee for a whole day. Never in his life had he felt this kind of pain.
"What happened? If I remember correctly, my PC was smoking and I touched the CPU and then… then what?" Su Ling felt his head spinning and his conscious lacking. He also felt gaps in his memories.
'Where the fuck is this?' Su Ling wondered, feeling hard rocky things poking his back. 'That bastard Quan. Couldn't he take me to a better hospital!? It was as if I was sleeping on the ground instead of a bed.'
Wait a damn minute!
Su Ling felt around him and found an uneven and slightly damp floor.
'I am fucking lying on the ground!?' He sprang up to his ass and winced loudly in pain as a burning sensation came from his abdomen.
The pain cleared up his head, and Su Ling was finally able to assess his surroundings. He was sleeping on a damp and dirty ground near a puddle of water. The dampness he felt earlier was due to that puddle only. Around him were only high-rising trees with trunks thick enough to build a few wooden carts.
The pain he felt earlier was due to a long gash on his abdomen. From his amateur point of view, the gash was left behind by a long and sharp object. Possibly, a sword or a rapier. It was definitely not a wound left behind by a knife.
By now, he was already panicking.
Then came the straw that broke the camel's back.
With a headache that nearly made him pull out his hairs, memories that didn't belong to him surfaced.
Memories of a young man named Aron, his life, his struggles, his joy, and happiness. Everything flashed past his eyes like a panorama. He saw as the young man joined the military, trained for years, and joined a platoon. Su Ling felt the happiness Aron felt when he wrote about it to his home, to his young wife.
As time passed, Aron's life reached the climax, where his whole battalion was decimated due to a traitor, leaving only him as the survivor. Tasked by his platoon leader to report about the situation at the border back to the kingdom, he was running for a few days nonstop.
With enemies in hot pursuit, he couldn't even afford to sit down and rest for a second.
The gash was left behind by the traitor who finally caught up to him. Being a greenhorn, he was no match for the Vice-platoon leader, who was known for his mastery with a sword. He would have died that day had it not for luck being on his side.
Ultimately Aron succumbed to his wounds, and Su Ling took his place.
"Holy Shit!" Despite the situation, Su Ling couldn't help but curse loudly. Before today, he only saw the characters in books and games encountering such a phenomenon.
Never had he thought this could happen with him as well.
"This is not a good thing." Su Ling, after a bit of excitement, realized his precarious situation. As of now, he was an important witness to a crime, and the culprit was hot on his heels.
Moreover, the culprit was crazily strong and had the support of the enemy troops.
'This Aron is only a Grade 3 warrior. The enemy was Grade 5, who was able to manifest his internal Qi outside of his body.' Su Ling thought with a frown. His back had already drenched in a cold sweat.
The world he transmigrated into was a sword and magic world. People here cultivated Mana and Qi, respectively. Like always, magic users were rare and few, whereas Qi cultivators, also known as warriors, could be found everywhere.
Aron was a warrior who started his cultivation only after joining the military. In just a year, he managed to go up from a normal human to a Grade 3 warrior. The platoon leader liked his talent and appreciated his hardworking personality and thus allowed him to join.
Sha! Sha!
The bushes near him rustled, making Su Ling nearly jump out of his skin. Aron's muscle reflex manifested as Su Ling found himself pulling out a broken sword from his back.
