Emika stretched out both hands and the tips of her unnerving fingers touched the doors ever so lightly. She stood motionless as she heard the loud beating from her chest. She did not dare to make a sound, but was already thinking about what to say when she'd see him again.
Her heart refused to believe that Shufeng would come back specially to hurt her. In contrast, her mind reasoned that if he had murdered his own father, schemed to cover his sins by sacrificing her family, and escaped his punishment by spilling more innocent blood; he would surely seek the deepest revenge against her, since she had ruthlessly betrayed him and stabbed him.
Doubts circled in her mind.
And her heart was sorely troubled.
