And Pyun went on explaining Cheng had resolved to send word to his friend, General Hishoku. And since the latter was the Emperor's trusted advisor, Cheng entreated him to believe what he read in the letter, and implored him to disclose the Empress's unlawful conduct and to petition the Emperor to protect his family.
