Lyod's P.O.V
"And are you sure this safe?" I asked for what seemed like the billionth time.
"Of course not," Martin chuckled, "Ever heard of safe explosions?"
I looked back at Jaden and Nickie, "You two remember, whatever happens, you're not to go inside the building. For everyone's sake don't do that."
Jaden nodded, not paying much attention, he had a gun in his hands and was grinning ear to ear.
"Try not to get too attached." Martin sniggered.
He turned to his army all armed and ready, "All right my minions," He snorted at the word, "Who wants to get cured Huh?" And everyone yelled, screamed, hooted and laughed, "Well, here's the plan: We're gonna attack everyone who gets in the way and try to get Lyod, here, to Harry, alright? So... Who's ready?!"
Everybody screamed a yes, "Then let's get to it!" Martin yelled back, excitedly.
And they all charged towards the building.
"Stay there!" I shouted to the pair, who sat in the street, running after the people, Martin throwing an explosive already.
"Find Harry!" I heard Nickie call back eagerly.
Well, that's exactly what i'm doing.
Harry's P.O.V
I jumped when I heard a large BOOM in the air. It was faded, but that was only because of the thick walls of the room. I felt shaking below my feet and I get this rush in my adrenaline. What was happening? I was uncontrollably shaking in the cold and I realized I won't make it till tomorrow. I can't. I was so weak. And I kept on blackening out. Was this explosion just me hallucinating? I doubted this could be real. I rubbed my face from time to time to keep me from sleeping. I just didn't want to close my eyes incase I won't be able to open them back again.
There was another BOOM and this one was louder then before. I can't hallucinate that real. I started getting up. Something was wrong. But I yelped, my legs shaking so hard that I couldn't stand. I fell on the floor, muttering under my breath,
"I'll kill you Bryce. Just you wait." I swear under my breath.
There was a loud clank as the door unlocked and opened. There he was. Bryce, standing with a hasty look on his face. A defeated look. He walked up to me, not smiling,
"Your stupid friends," He said, "They're here."
I wanted to smile but even that took an effort, my breaths heavy I said, "I told you, they'll come for me."
"And you were right," He sighed, "It's shocking how you're still in this room. Even though you do look like shit."
"It doesn't matter what you say now, They're here and there's nothing you can do about it."
He raised an eyebrow, "Is that what you think?"
The sudden lights were blinding so I put my arm in front, blocking it to see him. There was another explosion and I could even hear faint gunshots.
"Do you think you can still win?" I countered, "They're here with-"
"The infected." He completed, "It's a wonder how he convinced Martin. But then again, he probably bribed them with the cure." He kept talking more to himself then me, snarling he said, "Too bad he won't get it."
I frowned. Before I could say anything he grabbed me by the arm and lifted me to my feet and started dragging me out to the bright halls.
"Hey!" I yelled, the lights blaring in my eyes, "Where the hell are you taking me?"
"Try and keep up Harry," Bryce said, dodging his men, who were running to defend this place. Bryce did say the vault was here. "They won't be able to do nothing without the cure. Which I'll have eventually."
"What're you gonna do with all of this? Why do you want to ruin this?" I pleaded, "It will be a good thing that the infected get the cure. Why don't you understand?"
He stopped, facing me, "Oh, I understand that, Harry. But what I don't understand is why my brother never became infected when I did." He folded up a sleeve and showed me rotten skin. Veins bulging, the area grey and fleshy. "It just started happening." He muttered, "But once I get the cure, I'll heal myself and the world if they do as I say, of course."
"Why would you do that?" I had my eyes wide open on his arm. He noticed my horror and quickly unfolded his sleeve, "Power, Harry. Everybody wants power. You'll understand when you grow up well enough."
I frowned as he started dragging me again but this time I resisted. "You can't make me do something I don't want to so let go of me now!"
He sighed, "I was afraid you'd say that." With a quick spin he took out his pistol and pointed it at me, "Now are you coming?" There was another explosion and the floor beneath us shook.
I gulped, walking slowly and forcefully with him. That's when I heard a voice I've been waiting for ever since I came here.
"Didn't you hear brother?" He said, "The boy doesn't want to give the cure to you."
It was Lyod. And all I could say was,
"It's about bloody time."
Lyod's P.O.V
And he's standing there, weaker then I could remember, paler, his nose red and he was breathing heavy, a gun pointed at his face.
There's my brother standing, with a gleeful look.
"You were right Harry," Bryce grinned at me, "I did loose, didn't I?"
"Let him go, Bryce." I have my gun in my arms, "I will not hesitate."
"Neither will I."
And he shot him. In the gut. Right infront of me. Giving me no chance to react. Giving him no chance to react. Harry looked at me before he groaned in agony, pressing his hand on the blood pouring out of his shirt before hitting the ground in pain.
I run towards him, screaming as I punch Bryce hard on the face but he still grinned, a cut on his lips as he staggered back.
"Luck's only with you once brother." He said. "Looks like he'll die this time."
"Shut up!" I spat at him, kneeling down next to Harry.
I take out my napkin and pressed it on his wound. He looked at me with large eyes, trying to control the pain.
"You're going to be ok, alright?" I said, frantically looking around, "Just hang in there."
And he's got that look. That familiar helpless look he had the last time.
And I realized,
Will I be able to save him this time?
Harry's P.O.V
The pain. It burns. It burns, burns, burns and it hurts, hurts, hurts. I can't believe he shot me and I want this to be over. And then I see Lyod sitting next to me, like that will help. His napkin is soaked with my blood and it won't stop. Everything's starting to go black and Bryce is smirking and I hate him and I want to kill him. He shot me because he had lost.
That's when I hear a shriek. And there she is, standing with her hands covering her face. She runs for me and I think she called out my name but the pain. I can't hear anything but the blood gushing out and i'm breathing heavily and I'm dying. I know it. No, no, no. Why now when they came to save me? Why now!
And she's looking at me and crying and I want to tell her i'm alright but it hurts when I talk and blood's coming out of my mouth and she's horrified.
Lyod yells at her but she ignores him, pushing him away and pressing that useless napkin, whispering something I didn't understand even when I want to so badly. And she's crying and it makes me feel guilty that she's crying because of me. Her hand comes out bloody and she looks scared. Like I won't be able to-
And there he is punching and punching at Bryce till he faints. She yells muffled words and he runs, only to come back with two infected men. They lift me up after some arguments and started taking somewhere I wanted to know about but before I could, the world started spinning and I saw blood on my hand and then I was gone.
