Standing in a living room that had light gray walls, light gray floors, a white couch, a coffee table, a big glass bay window that had white curtains in front of it, and a gray stone fire place was a girl aged 17 and her father. The girl had long hazel reddish brown hair, gray eyes, and was 5'4. The girl wore a yellow dress that had no sleeves and cut off at the knee, a blue jean jacket, black sandals, and had her hair tied up in a pony tail with a side bang. The girl stood in front of the couch where her parents sat. She paced back and forth biting her nails and grabbing her hair.
The girl's father said "Eliza do you realize how big this is for you?" The girl turned towards her father and said "how big this is for me? Don't you mean how big of a pay out you can get from this marriage?" Her mother stood up and said "that is enough! You will not disrespect your father like that." Eliza slapped her hand on her leg and said "I just don't get why you gave your blessing! How could you do this to me without even asking?" Her father said "well what was I supposed to do? He's our prince, he gets what he wants." Eliza shouted "you should've said no! That's what you should've done!" Her father said "and then what Eliza, have this family suffer the consequences? I don't think so! If the prince wants your hand then you will give it to him without question." Eliza shouted "but what about me huh? What about my happiness? What about how I feel? Doesn't that matter to anyone?" Her mother said "Eliza and Tim you both need to calm down." Eliza shouted "how can you tell me to calm down when you've given my hand away without my permission?!" Tim shouted "you young lady are our daughter! You live in my house and in this kingdom and it is the kingdom law that the prince get his choosing! He heard of your beauty and he wanted you, you should be honored instead of complaining!" Eliza shouted "yeah I'm so honored that I get treated like a piece if property." Tim shouted "that's enough! You will marry Prince Kingston and you will be a good wife to him!" Eliza's eyes began to fill up with tears and she cried "I can't believe you would disregard my feelings because you want money." Eliza stormed out if the house slamming the door behind her and began to run far away from her house.
She ran until she couldn't run anymore and looked all around her to see, trees and several leaf paths leading to different areas. She walked over to a near by tree, pressed her forehead against tree while holding it, and looked down. Her tears dripped on the ground as she cried "I just don't understand, why is this happening to me God, just why?" After a few minutes of quietly crying she felt a warm touch of someone's hand on her's. She quickly yanked her hand away, jumped back, and gasped as she put her hand on her chest. A man quickly came from behind the other side of the tree with a red face saying "I'm sorry I didn't see you there, I didn't mean to scare you." She looked at the man to see that he was 5'7 and was a little muscular. He had dark black hair and blue eyes. The man wore a black shirt with sleeves the rolled up to around his elbow, light blue jeans, and black lace up shoes. The man was 18 years old. She looked at him, said "you know you really shouldn't go around scaring people," turned around, and folded her arms. A smile came to the man's face and he said "I'm really sorry. I really didn't see you there." She looked back at him, quickly looked away, said "I guess I can accept your apology, now if you excuse me," and began walking off. He caught up to her and said "hey, wait, what are you doing all the way out here? There isn't a town around for about 2 miles." She looked at him and said "you know I could ask you why your out here too, the only difference is I know how to mind my business." She began walking off with a soft smile on her face and he said "I don't mean to be nosey I was just trying to be friendly." She turned around, looked at him, walked closer to him, and said "well if you must know I like it out here. It gives me a chance to think." The man smiled and said "I like to come out here and think too. This place is so quite that it makes it easier just to clear my head." She said "hmm yes, now I have to get going if you would excuse me." He said "well if you ever need a friend, you can talk to me. I know we just met but I'm always ready to listen to anyone who needs help." She said "why do you think I need help of any sort? What gives you that idea?" He said "your eyes." She said "what about them?" He said "they... they look puffy from crying. I can tell all over your face that you've been crying a lot. I don't like seeing anyone hurt so.... if you need to talk I'm happy to listen." She said "I don't need some random stranger giving me advice about something he knows nothing about. I don't need someone I don't even know listening to my problems. Its not like you can help me anyways. All you can do is listen." He said "well sometimes it helps just to have an outside opinion to listen to your problems. Even if I can't help that much its always nice to be able to vent to someone without being judged so if you ever want to take me up on that talking offer I'm here everyday around the same time." She said "what are you, a therapist?" He said "no I just don't like seeing people cry, and if I can help I like to do whatever I can to at least brighten someone else's day as best as I can." She scoffed and said "okay since you want to know and "your such a good friend, I'm being forced to marry someone I don't even know." His eyes widened as he said "wow I'm..." she interrupted saying "it doesn't matter anymore, anyways, I'm gonna be stuck marrying this guy." He said "why don't you just decline his offer?" She said "because my parents already gave him their blessing. I have to marry him." He said "who is the man you have to marry?" She said "Prince Kingston, he wants my hand because of my beauty. Oh how I hate him so." He said "so your Eliza then?" She jumped and said "how do you know my name?" He said "your the talk of Kingdom Barry. Ever since the news of your engagement to Prince Kingston went out, your all the town is talking about. They talk of your beauty so highly though I've never seen you there before." She looked down at the ground and said "I don't go out in the kingdom much. The majority of the time I go out some man is always asking for my hand in marriage, so I try to avoid them as much as possible. Father said he wanted me to have the best things in life, the best suitor and everything. The only thing is I didn't know he would go behind my back and make such a huge decision without even asking me first." He said "I'm sorry Eliza that your going through this but maybe its for the better. Maybe you'll grow to love him like he probably loves you already." She scoffed and said "Prince Kingston loves me? That's a little crazy don't you think? I mean he's never even met me before and I've never met him. The only thing he's heard so far is that I'm beautiful nothing more or less. He can't be in love with me based on that and that alone." He said "I guess your right but if you ask me I think that maybe he fell in love with you even before meeting you. Hopefully he'll be everything you want and need..." She looked at him and said "hey you know you know my name already but you never told me what your name was. So since I'm spilling all this information about me and my life I would at least like to know the name of the man I've been speaking to and pour out my feelings too." He chuckled and said "my name is Kai. " She smiled and said "what an unusual name, its very strange but I like it I guess." He said "well thanks." She smiled and said "your welcome Kai, and thanks for listening to my problems. You were right, it did help me feel a lot better. I needed to vent and let everything out." He said "glad I could help cheer you up a bit." She said "I... I hope your here tomorrow, your a very great person to vent too." He smiled and said "I will be here tomorrow at the same time. I hope I do see you here tomorrow but for now I have to get going." She said "alright Kai I'll be here tomorrow and I hope that you won't be late." He said "I promise I'll be right on time." He left back to his home as she went back to her's both of them thinking about one another.
