Julia is fast at adapting to the new environment.
Seeing how she lacked everything while she lived here, and noticing how people stare at her and the stern replies when she asks for a favour... I'm starting to understand why she didn't complain about how I treated her the first days in Fortress
I wouldn't have forgiven my behaviour that easily, in her place, but she indeed has witnessed worse.
We spend two days leisurely lazing around, kissing when night falls, and talking during the day. The delinquents don't come back to bother us, so we don't even need to defend ourselves.
We don't need to look for food, but we venture into the market to see how it is. And it's disappointing. There isn't anything much to buy there.
Having never wandered out of Fortress, I couldn't imagine how difficult the life conditions are outside. I did understand that living in the wild or in an abandoned city is difficult. But I thought that warded cities were better off.
