As if knowing what Leo and I were talking about, dad appears at the entry of the courtyard.
Maybe Leo knew he was coming and prepared me to accept to talk with him.
I don't really have doubts about his identity. He's dad, that's for sure. But I can't accept that he's been well and alive all these years.
What if he's a ghost? Or he went through some weird transformation just like Raphael and me?
«Julia,» dad says. It's the first time he uses my name. «Can we talk?»
I nod, still unable to talk. I don't let go of Leo's hand, and I pull him towards the entrance.
«The enchantments in the building are all broken,» Leo points out. «You might want to talk in a more private place.»
«All broken?»
«I could hear what's happening inside a few minutes ago,» he sighs.
«The enchantments are not broken, Leo,» Robert points out. «I was too shaken to control it, so I deactivated part of it. I didn't even notice, so I guess...»
