As soon as the door is closed, Julia clenches my t-shirt and sinks her head in my chest. She's shivering; her arms are unresting while she locks them around my neck.
I don't have any choice but to hug her back.
She was so brave out there: she deserves some peace and rest now.
«Leo?» the guard posted here says, observing how we forced our way through the door. The arrows land, and the gates open because of the pressure.
I lean against the wall, keeping Julia safe in my arms.
I didn't see any alternative but to break the door. We had to get in at any cost.
«Hey,» I whisper to her ear. «You're safe now.»
«Are you sure?» she murmurs, calming down little by little. She listens to my heartbeat and sighs, not letting go of me a single inch.
«You two...» the guard continues, annoyed that we're ignoring him. «You better follow me.»
«Where?» I inquire.
«Amadeus is looking for you.»
