Leon opens his eyes to Violet sleeping curled up right next to him, she has her arms wrapped around him so Leon figures he's not getting up because he might wake her up. Leon sighs and rests his head on the wall behind them. Leon thinks that he might actually love Violet, he doesn't want to lose her so he remains cautious, he doesn't want a repeat of the last relationship. Leon looks down at Violet, he smiles and kisses her head. Violet shifts a little and crawls a little closer to Leon, Leon doesn't push her away like he's always done. Leon thinks that he's fallen hard for this girl but he knows it would be weird if he said he loved her so quickly. He met her just recently, no one should love someone by then, it would drive away their lover, thoughts like these were what plagued Leon's mind.
When Violet woke up, Leon had fallen back asleep in the middle of thinking. Violet however wasn't worried at all about leaving him, in fact, she had already planned on the exact opposite. She was prepared to make Leon marry her if it was the last thing she would ever do. Violet was tempted when the thought of kissing him every time she woke up first entered her mind, but whenever she saw his lips she didn't want to violate their peaceful rest. She got close to his lips, enough that she could feel his breath on her mouth, but she never violated them, she wanted their first kiss to be real, not stolen during his sleep.
They went on this way for a month of waking up together. After the month, Leon figured now was time to do something more permanent than this cave wall and cave floor, Leon took his bow he crafted using magic and his quiver of throwing spears, he left to find something with a large hide and a soft fur to sleep on. He figured this animal could more dangerous than all of the docile creatures he's hunted so far so he filled his belt with a lot of bone knives and a lot of this powder he made through chopping a small mushroom up he found in the forest. He also packed his newly upgraded spears, they now had proper metalheads and a metal cap on the back. Leon walked up to the more decently size girl and patted her on the head "I'm going to get a bigger hide so I can make a sleeping mat for us to sleep on."
Violet smiled but quickly changed to sadness "Wait, What animal? What if its a dangerous one? What if you get hurt?" Violet grabbed Leon's shirt and waited for a response "I will be fine, don't worry, I will take a few days at most so don't worry". Violet hesitated because she wants to trust him but she also didn't want to lose him. She ultimately decided to let go, Leon smiled and patted her again "I promise I'll be back soon if I'm not, then I want you to not come after me either ok?" Violet tenses but grabs him again and pulls him down to kiss him on the cheek "I promise, but I can't help not worrying about you, come back soon"
Leon leaves the cave, which now has a makeshift curtain as a door, the curtain is made up of a pelt and some wood along the sides and top to make an even doorway. Leon passes under the door and makes his way down the beaten path he made by constantly walking down this way, he also had kicked any smaller things out of the way in an attempt to keep the pathway clear. Leon has thoughts about how he hasn't found a town despite his constant searching on his way to the edge of the river.
Violet spent most of her time constantly improving their place, today she busied herself by cooking some food then making little improvements to their base. She used her water magic to make clean water for the two of them but this time she used it as a cleaning tool, she fired water at a high enough pressure to cut some jagged stones off the walls and straighten them. She learned how to cook from Leon and he taught her how to use her magic as high pressures to cut through the stone and form actual rooms in their home. She also spent some of her time playing with the animals of the forest, they loved her and played with her all the time.
Leon spent most of the day exploring, he figured if civilization is here then they might have maps for him but he had already memorized the forest on this side of the river, the forest on the other side was more dangerous and had bigger creatures so that was where he was headed to. He made a bridge across the river using some wood he formed with magic. He had also set up a little camp on this side of the bridge, where he had tools for cooking and some extra firewood. He had a little water wheel as decoration, Violet wanted it to look good.
Meanwhile, Violet had found some birds' nests in the tree that Leon had told her about, she climbed the tree and watched the baby birds in the nests. Once she got back, she carved a little bird statue out of a rock and put it on the ground outside of the door. She used all of her time by making a little bird rock family.
Leon crossed the bridge and immediately felt smaller, as he walked he found multiple smaller creatures but he was looking for something bigger so he walked past them. He was walking under some giant roots when he saw a cave with a big white bear resting inside. Leon assumed that the bear was albino or a rare species of white bears. Leon pulled out his half-bow and formed an arrow, he shot it aiming for the bear's head. He hid without even seeing if his arrow hit, but he heard a loud roar so he figured he hit it. He glanced around the tree and saw the arrow in the bear's right eye, the arrow disappeared and the bear started looking around for where the arrow came from.
Violet got tired of all of her activities today and went to lay down. She felt uneasy since this is the first time in a month that she slept alone but she soon fell asleep. By the time she woke up, it was pitch black outside and Leon wasn't back, Violet was terrified of what could have happened to him. She tried reassuring herself by remembering what Leon told her 'I'll be back in a few days at most'.
Leon peeked out of the tree he was hiding behind as the bear noticed him and charged. Leon never stopped firing until the bear was too close, then he put his bow away and pulled out a throwing spear. He started running to put room between him and the bear but the bear kept closing in on him. By the time that he stopped running the bear had caught up to him, he turned and saw the giant bear take a slash at him. The bear made a deep gash across Leon's chest, Leon fell to the ground and tried throwing a spear, hitting the bear in the shoulder. The bear climbed on top of Leon completely unfazed and ready to tear into his head, but Leon was looking at his wound as his vision started blurring. His hands felt cold and his chest felt tight he looked up at the bear growling at him. Right as the bear pounced, a few arrows flew off and hit the bear. Before Leon lost consciousness he remembers seeing a figure crouch next to him and look at him.
Violet had laid down, her face only barely holding her sadness in, she wanted to believe he would be back and that he wasn't already dead. She decided that she would put her trust in him and not give up hope yet. She tossed and turned all night trying to not dream about what could have happened to him, instead she changes her dreams to a date with him. She puts her mind at peace with that dream and soon falls completely asleep.
Bonus: Violet's dream of a date with Leon went as follows. Leon holding her hand and walking with her in a town, stopping to see any great views. Violet would kiss Leon and he would kiss her back, after shopping and seeing the town all day, they would rent a hotel and spend the night doing other dating things. The idea behind it is that they both get to have a piece of what they want in a relationship, its the perfect date for the two of them.
