Chapter 3 - Chapter 3, Help

It began to rain before Lyla even realized the clouds gathering. Not like she really could. For the past several minutes she had done nothing but sit on her knees, trying her best to keep herself from crying. The rain that landed on her head and dripped into her face didn't really help with that.

She couldn't believe it. Her worst fear had come true. Taking care of (Y/n) and making sure she lived the life she herself couldn't had been her top priority for years. And it was almost impossible for Lyla to even imagine where her helpless little sister was right them.

Then from the silence, came the quickened sound of footsteps and heavy panting. The deep breaths sounded masculine as well.

"Oh my! Are you alright, mam?! What happened here?! Did anyone hurt you?! Where's Herobrine!?" A flood of questions came her way all at once. At least the voice was not like Herobrine's. It sounded a lot nicer and less like some, thing. Lyla slowly looked up from the grass she was sitting on and looked in front of her at the person's feet. Her eyes widened when she saw very similar-looking shoes and pants to Herobrine. She jumped back in panic and fell backwards onto her bum where she flung her head to look at the guy's face. Lyla was filled with sudden relief when instead of glowing eyes, she saw normal dark blue pupils looking back at her, obviously eager for answers. He didn't seemed one bit shocked by her frantic outburst, however.

"Y- you look almost exactly like him!" Lyla pointed out as she tried to regain her composure and swipe away any water in her face.

"Yeah. I get that a lot." The young man chuckled. "Now what exactly happened here?" He asked.

"My sister. She was taken. She was taken by Herobrine!" Lyla answered, having an even harder time keeping in the tears.

"Woah, wait, that's it? No killing, no torturing, none of that?!" The guy asked with disbelief.

"Well, a tree did almost fall right on top of me. Maybe he was trying to kill me. I dunno..." Lyla sighed.

"Why do you suppose he wants her? Was she planning anything against him?. Holder of any valuable items?. A leader of some group?" He asked.

"What? No, not at all. She didn't even know about him until he showed up. I, never.. told her." Lyla looked down at the ground full of defeat times a thousand.

"Well were there any hints towards WHY she was taken?" The guy asked. Lyla felt a little queasy as she thought.

"I guess he did kiss her.." Lyla answered with zero comfort inside. The guy covered his mouth and looked like he was trying not to barf.

"Why the chicken baloney sandwich would such a crook like him kiss a girl he just randomly finds on the street!?" He shouted, physically showing the anger Lyla felt inside. "Alright. He has left me with no choice. I hoped he would change, but clearly he's just getting worse!. I need to put an end to this." The guy growled. "Show me your house so I know where to bring your sister once I save her. Expect her back in maybe about a week unless the weather decides to be mean." He more of ordered. Then he began walking where he guessed Lyla had come from.

"Wait, if you know how to stop this guy, then I'm coming along! I am NOT just going to stand by and rest my own little sister's life on the shoulders of some stranger like you!" Lyla shouted, standing up. The rain hitting the grass around them was slowly starting to pick up to the point where the impact sounded like millions of tiny drums were all being hit at once. The guy figured using that to make it seem as if he couldn't hear her would be a good excuse to ignore her. If she was just going to yell instead of answer him, then he didn't need bother her any more. But Lyla knew what he was doing and ran around him so she was directly in front of him and shouted again. "I said! I am going with you! I can't count on a stranger such as yourself to do everything!"

"Excuse me?!" The guy cocked his head in annoyance. "I am not just some stranger; my name is Steve!" He proclaimed.

"Whatever! I am still coming with you, even if you don't want me to!" She shouted over the rain and her own frustration.

"Well, what if.." He smiled, pulling out something from his inventory, "-I throw an ender pearl!?" As he said that he reeled back his arm and with amazing speed threw the purple item far off over the trees. Lyla thought quickly and dropped down onto her stomach and wrapped her arms around both of Steve's legs tightly. Then they were both teleported into a new mud pit where the rain poured even harder on the two.

Steve tried to run away but Lyla's arms around his legs caught him off balance and he fell face first into the mud where Lyla quickly tackled him and pinned him to the ground. Unfortunately for her she wasn't as heavy as she would need to be to hold someone as strong as Steve down, so he rolled over and sent her back first into the mud so she was entirely drenched, and tried jumping up to run off. But fortunately for Lyla, she did have a tight grip, and held him down in the mud so he was unable to escape. The next few minutes they spent taking turns pinning the other down and wrestling so that it eventually looked like they were more mud than human.

"Just let me go already!!" Steve shouted after a tiring fifth minute of endless wrestling.

"Not until you let me tag along, at least!!" Lyla demanded.

"No way! I am not letting some nineteen-year-old tag along on such a dangerous journey!!"

"I'll have you know I just turned twenty-three!!"

"Well I am almost twenty-four, so HA!!" Steve boasted. Then the two of them realized how awkward the whole situation really was, with Lyla at the time startling Steve, pinning down his arms to his side with her own. The moment that realization came, both scrammed to their feet and attempted wiping the mud off themselves to give them something to do in that awkward moment.

"Heh.. sorry." Lyla apologized shyly. Steve just nodded and gave up trying to clean himself off with the rain alone. "How about we head inside, then talk about it.. like civilized people?" Lyla suggested.

"...-Good idea." Steve agreed.
