"Herobwine.. Herobwine... Herobwine!.." I was slowly woken by Teddy's slowly growing in volume whispers.
"Whatdayawant?" I grumbled from under my blankets. I must have scooted under them while asleep.
"Herobwine?" Teddy asked in a normal volume that time, knowing I was now awake. I grumbled and rolled over to face away from him. After a few quiet moments, I felt divots at the side of my bed and heard the sounds of someone small trying to climb up my tall bed.
When I realized he was trying to climb up I grumbled yet again. "Teddy, offmybednow Iwannasleep." I half yawned. But the little boy didn't seem to hear me.
He eventually managed to jump up and crawled beside me before sitting on his knees and just looking at me. I felt his gaze burning the back of my head and I just had to turn around to look at him. My eyes illuminated his face once I looked at him and he looked a little scared.
"Wh- what do you want?" I asked Teddy with some sternness that would hopefully get him to leave as I propped myself up a little.
"I had a scawy dweam." The young boy told me with puppy eyes as if expecting me to fix his problem. I just raised a tired eyebrow.
"Yeah, that happens sometimes. You just have to go back to sleep and forget them." I told him.
"But then I will have it again!" He said with a little plead in his eyes. I sighed and rubbed my tired eyes with the hand that wasn't propping me up.
"Well, what am I supposed to do?" I groaned. Teddy just looked at me as if wishing I would come up with a solution. I laid back on my pillow to think. I was still waking up, and having a hard time not falling back asleep. I then heard rustling and looked at Teddy to see him laying on his back not too far from me. "Teddy, you need to go back to bed." I told the young boy.
"Do you want to know my bad dweam?" Teddy asked me. I sighed with the hopes that once he was done he would leave.
"Um, sure." I sighed.
"It started good. Me, Maddie, Baz, and you were playing in the meadow." He started.
I just had to interrupt. "-Wait, why was I in your dream?" I asked. Teddy just shrugged.
"I don't know. Do you not want to be in my dweam?" He asked with innocence I couldn't dare to wish away.
"Um, no. It's fine. Just continue." I coaxed.
"Okay.. Well, we were all playing, and then a person showed up. He looked mean. He had shiny grey and black armor on with a scary red mask so I couldn't see his face. He made the meadow darker. And it started to rain." I was intrigued by the boy's description of the scary person, because he sounded like someone I had met a long, long time ago. "The scary man then walked over to you. And you were scared. His sword, had your blood on it. I do not know how I knew that dou.. And then, another man showed up. He looked much nicer. He had a old brown shirt and grey pants and was bald with a black beard." I almost jumped at the description but forced myself not to so I wouldn't interrupt the story. "And another man showed up too. He looked just like you too, but with blueish-purple eyes." I had the same reaction to that character description as well. "The two others looked scared for you. Then they looked sad... And then.." Teddy began to cry. Even though I didn't feel too comfortable, I held Teddy's hand to comfort him. It seemed to help. "*sniffles*.. I saw you vanish. You looked sad and scared and happy. I cried when you were all gone. Maddie and Baz cried too. So did the nicer looking men. But the scary man. He laughed evilly. He was a evil man!" Then Teddy cried a little more.
"H- how did I vanish?" I asked little Teddy. He then looked at me with teary eyes and forced himself not to cry even more.
"You made yourself vanish.." Teddy cried that line, and he really started wailing. How did he even care?! Why did he even care?!. I had no idea what to do. I just laid there holding Teddy's hand a little tighter hoping he would calm down. Finally, Teddy calmed down and continued telling the story between sniffles. "The nice guy that looked a lot like you, he changed. He turned evil with red eyes. It was scary.. And the other nice man vanished too.. And- and- and a girl with eyes like you. She vanished too, along with four other kids. Some of them looked only a little older than me. Th- th- they looked so sad. The evil man left, but he was happy. And, it ended."
The dream puzzled me. It was most likely just a dream he had made up himself. He probably just read a book about the battle between me and my brothers. I heard some people actually recorded that. I never cared to read any of them though. But, how did he know about #######? As far as I know, hardly anyone even knew he existed. And it sounded like Teddy even mentioned Evie and her siblings. Like, sure she ended up writing a book about being trapped in Minecraft on that adventure of hers, but she never published it inside Minecraft where Teddy or anyone around him could read it.. Was it a warning of some kind? Was it a peek into how everyone would react when I was dead? Nah! Teddy was probably just a good guesser. But, even so.. He cared about me. How?! I just couldn't understand it. He literally just met me. Maybe he never imprinted on his parents somehow, and like a bird or something saw me being nice and just decided I would be his new daddy or something. I don't really know!
"Herobwine?.." Teddy asked in a sad little voice, looking up at me.
"Yeah?" I acknowledged.
"Will you make yourself vanish?" He asked with a couple small sniffles. I just looked at him with a blank look as I thought of how to answer. I knew it was the only way to keep myself from hurting anyone. I had already made plans to go back in time right before I went up against my brothers for the first time, when I was at my weakest, and end it all right then by killing my past self. That way, my brothers would be okay. The people of, the oh so cleverly named; Minecraftia, would not be harmed.. And most of all, I wouldn't ever have to grow up a monster that I would eventually regret years later. I had to do this. It was the only way I could fix it. But, I didn't want Teddy to cry or just feel bad at all. So I decided to tell a little White Lie.
"No Teddy, I will be fine. Now you go to sleep.. and I'll make sure I don't vanish. Okay?" I comforted Teddy. He smiled a little and closed his eyes. "Woah woah, I mean go to sleep in your bed." I chuckled.
"But, I, am sooo, tired." Teddy moaned.
"Yeah, me too. But you can crawl your way back to your bed. Now go on." I coaxed with 1/4th a chuckle as I began scooting Teddy towards the edge of the bed. The little boy seemed a bit pouty and hesitant to move himself.
"But, it's so farrr.." He groaned with a tired yawn.
"Then why did you come over in the first place?" I asked. I really did want to know.
"Because you are nice." Teddy yawned.
"Pff, no. I'm Herobrine. The Lord of destruction. The killer of the innocent. Or at least I used to be." I said with little emotion, just a hint of anger towards myself.
"Like Paul?" Teddy asked, looking into my eyes with curiosity. I felt as if I recognized the name, but other than that had no idea what he was saying.
"Who's Paul?" I decided to ask.
"He was a man in the Bible." Teddy said. "He used to be called Saul. Maddie said when he was Saul, that he killed lots of people. He was evil. But Maddie said he met God, was blind, then healed, and became good." I chuckled at the little story. It had been a long time since I had heard about the Bible, but the story Teddy told me started sounding familiar. "And when Saul became good, he called himself Paul, and he started helping those he had been killing. Maddie even said he became one of the nicest and best people in the WHOLE Bible." Heh, Teddy thinks I have a chance at being forgiven, cute. But unfortunately for him, I was no Paul. I was Herobrine. But something inside me was still a little curious as to how this Saul guy even changed enough to give himself a new name. The way I saw it, you can't change yourself, only warp what is already there in something different. Maybe there was another way though.
"Where is this Saul guy in the Bible anyways?" I decided to ask Teddy. He just shrugged.
"I dunno.. But Maddie said he wrote a lot of the Bible. Shouldn't be too hard to find him." Was Teddy's answer. I just sighed and decided to get back to the original topic.
"Sooo, you going to leave now, or do I have to carry you?" I laughed, seeing the carrying bit as just a joke.
"You can carry me.." Teddy sighed as he let himself drift to sleep. Oh crap, I didn't actually mean it. I was joking!
"Teddy.. Teddy.. get up." I whisper shouted to keep Teddy awake, but his eyes stayed closed and his breathing was much steadier, like it should be when you're asleep. I just growled and rolled out the other side of bed and walked tiredly all the way around to the side Teddy was on. I tried nudging him a little to see if he would wake, but he was sound asleep. Man, he fell asleep quickly! I groan sighed one last time before picking the little boy up in my arms and held him like a big baby. He was pretty small so I guess the comparison wasn't too far off.
Then, I gently walked out of my room and towards the guest bedroom where I hoped the other two were sound asleep. It was then that I noticed how lite Teddy was. He probably needed to eat more. That, or I was just worried about something that didn't even matter. I wasn't that worried though, just a little. I might have to make sure he gets a full meal in the morning instead of just a few snacks or a couple cookies.
After a few turns, I made my way to the guest bedroom and carefully creaked the door open. Like I had hoped, both Madelyn and Sebastian were fast asleep. I quietly as possible snuck into the room and set Teddy on the bed where no one would kick him or something. I then quietly snuck back out with the hopes that no one would spot me. Once I closed the door I walked all the way back to my room. I was too drowsy to teleport. I might teleport inside a wall on accident. I had done it before, and the memory of it all was not a pleasant one. Once in my room, I only had enough energy to waddle my way back to my bed and curl up under the covers. After that, I was out quicker than you can say: supercalifragilistecexpialidocious.
