Their friends couldn't understand why he was persistent in carrying her to the carriage. Only Ivy understood the message behind the boy's speech.
And so, Prince Leon proceeded ahead and ignored Annabeth's advice.
Annabeth tries to stop him, but Peterson held her back, shaking his head and quietly said to her, "Let them. I'll explain later."
Then the Prince carried Ivy all the way to the palace gates and place her inside the carriage.
He asks for a private moment with the girl, and Peterson let them sit in the carriage alone to say their goodbyes.
