Chapter 28 - Chapter 28

Stiles' POV

Just then, the door to my room opened revealing a very agonized looking Malachi...

He took a deep breathe as he stepped in. I hadn't said a word to him. I was still in the aftershocks of the nasty dream I had though it was barely night according to the sun rays that illuminated their light in the room.

Malachi took a deep breathe, he was acting as if he had seen a ghost or something far more terrifying.

"You saw it too, right?". He asked as he sat on the edge of the bed I was still on, his back facing me. His shoulders were high with tension.

Something was bothering him. He wasn't relaxed. I wasn't relaxed either.

"Saw what?". I questioned back.

He took in a shuddering breathe then exhaled it out. "I know you saw it too. It will be as you saw".

"Yo dude, drop the parables and go straight to the point". I muttered out, confused and feeling a bit of exhausted but he stood up from the bed and left my room without another word.

I had to look for Lux. Like seriously, when was the last time I had such bad dreams?... Why wasn't her spell of protection from such dreams not working?.

What on earth was going on?.

I took a deep breathe as I stood up from the bed and tried to locate where my shoes were.

They were at the door. I walked up to them and was about to bend so as to pick them up but I suddenly felt light headed.

Quickly standing uprightly to compose myself but my sight got blurry and I felt weak.

Two strong arms were holding me up and I could hear someone call my name from a far. I couldn't quite make out whom was holding me or who was calling my name cause I wasn't sure if I was still in my dream or back in reality.

This was weird.

Something wasn't right.

What was wrong with me?.

"Stiles?... Stiles! Can you hear me?". The firm voice came again but however firm it was, I could still hear the tinge of concern alongside it.

I closed my eyes then tried to take in a calming deep breathe before opening them again.

My sight was coming back to me and I could now see the said arms holding me upright so as to not fall over.

Tracing them to the owner, I came face to face with Derek.

Derek?.

Why was he in my room?.

I looked past his shoulder to see the door wide ajar. The door had been shut before if my memory was correct.

I looked back at him, worry lines etched deep on his forehead as he looked back at me.

"H-How?.. How did you get in here?". I asked with slight hesitation as my eyes moved down to where his arms were holding me. He was following my eyes with his because he slowly let go of me as if he was afraid I would fall over the next minute.

This was getting weird.

"Your door wasn't locked silly!". He answered, his expression still the same.

I raised a brow at him, "Why are you here?".

"I could smell your distress and I felt that something wasn't right so I came". He replied as he looked at me once again... As if he was studying me.

"Oh like that one time Scott felt it when Erika was in danger?". I asked.

The question itself caused a frown to form on Derek's face nonetheless, he nodded his head in accordance.

"Are..". He stopped, his voice was rough and hoarse. I'm sure it felt quite stranger in his own ears as well.

I know the deaths of Erika and Boyd still affected him. Moreover, it was my fault for bringing them up suddenly when he hadn't gotten over them yet. But how could an Alpha get over his own betas? His own pack mates?.

Derek cleared his throat, "Are you okay or should I inform the sheriff about this?".

I raised both brows at him. He did the same. "I'm fine Derek. Thanks. I should actually be the one asking you that question. As you okay?".

His frown deepened, "Of course".

I tried giving out a brief smile but his expression didn't change. I walked past him to take a hold of my shoes and put them on.

"Have you seen Lux?". I asked as I turned to face him. He did the same.

"No I haven't".

Just then, my stomach grumbled loudly obviously Derek being wolf had heard it. "Man, I'm hungry". I said with a light chuckle trying to cover up for the small embarrassment I had felt.

Trying to look away but I could still feel his eyes on me. "Stop staring". I mumbled feeling more weird than before.

He then sighed dropping his eyes from me before walking past me as he gestured me with his hand to follow up. I did.

*

The food here was unbelievably delicious. There were all types of foods from Chinese to Italian and they were all plenty.

A lot of food than I have ever seen.

"Stiles, slow down the food is going no where". Lydia said causing Mazu's team to chuckle.

"I'm just hungry that's all". I replied with bits of foods in my mouth.

Pops was eating as well and I had forgotten to check the amount of meat on his plate. I guess he was this quiet because he thought that if he was quiet then I wouldn't notice him?.

I needed him to eat healthily so that he lived longer. I needed him by my side.

"Pops enjoy the moment while it lasts". I said as I watched him take a bite from a piece of chicken leg.

"Okay okay. Just this one don't go all parently on me!". He complained making me to just smile.

Just then, as we were eating, the ship shook a little causing the table and our seats to move.

"Is this an airquake?". Malia asked.

It shook again. Mazu's helpers immediately stood up from the table and left through the opposite door that we used to come in the dining hall.

"What do you think is wrong?". I asked.

"We should go check it out". Peter suggested as he stood up but the ship shook again causing him to stumble and fall forwards on the table... On his plate and several other serving plates... That had dishes which I hadn't tried yet.

"Did you have to fall on the food?". Romeo asked as Sebastian and Derek helped Peter off the table.

"It was an accident okay?". Peter defended as he looked down at himself. He was a mess.

"This ship is huge so whatever is shaking it must be huge as well". Lydia said.

"You think we are under attack?". Jackson asked, he was seated next to Lydia and had his arms crossed against his chest.

Lydia looked at him, "What better explanation do you have other than that?".

You could still see the tension that was between the two though I hoped that they would make up and be the couple they once were before everything took place.

"Then, it's better if we go and help them". Malachi piped in as he stood up and ran towards the door that Mazu's team used.

We followed suit.

"Pops please be careful". I told him. He stopped and gave my shoulder a little squeeze of reassurance.

"Don't worry son. I'll be fine". He replied, giving out a brief smile as he let go of my shoulder and followed the others.

I followed too.

Apparently, we were not under attack. Well, not by Babayada but the natural forces that were fighting against us. The ship looked wrecked, it wasn't flying by itself anymore but with the help of air balloons.

Yes, gigantic air balloons that's held the ship in the air. There was a heavy storm and judging by what we were using to travel right now, our chances for survival would be fifty fifty.

The heavy raindrops and the harsh wind that was blowing... The cold and the darkness that was overcoming now was too much.

I slipped as I tried to walk, actually I couldn't see a thing. I could hear Malia and Lydia scream due to the heavy raindrops lashing on them. But who couldn't feel the cold pain caused by the rain?.

We were all soaked wet by the minute we stepped on the deck and it was frustrating.

Lucky were the wolves and their super night vision sight... They could see and well, I the half human, half god couldn't see a thing.

"What's going on?". I heard Pops ask.

"We have a storm". Lily replied. They were all shouting so that they could be heard over the rain.

"Yes we can see that". Father replied sarcastically. Of course we could all see the storm and the little light produced by the fire powering up the air balloons and the lightning wasn't helping at all.

"Stiles?. You all should go back inside". I heard Lux order.

"Go back inside?..Are you kidding me?". Derek questioned.

"I'm being serious here. Go back inside this is not a natural storm..The lightning hit Keeper it could hit you as well. Tell me, how are you going to help out? With your claws? Huh?". Lux asked.

She was right, if Keeper who was immortal had been hit by lightning then we could stand no chance. There was no way we could fight a storm, we had no such powers unless Mazu who was goddess of the sea and Lux goddess of light.... Did something fast to save us all.

"I won't repeat myself again!". Lux shouted, this time louder as she produced two huge beams from her hands thus lighting up the whole ship in the process. She was standing on top of one of the air balloons and her dress was soaked wet, hugging her body on the right places and showing of her figure... What was I even thinking?. This was no right time to think of such.

We all looked up at her. Mworse, one of Mazu's helpers held Keeper in his arms in bridal style, she was unconscious though she was shivering from the cold.

"Take her inside". Mazu ordered and Mworse did just that.

"We can't sail on the sea, we're close to the devil's pot which swallows everything in a sea storm. Not even I can control it and nothing survives through it. If we keep on flying, the ship might be hit by lightning and we won't survive either". Mazu explained.

Just then, one of the air balloons was hit by lightning. Darkness took over once again.

The ship shook and we were now being supported by only one air balloon which wasn't that big thus it's capability of holding is all was very little. I feared for my life... I feared for the pack... For my father and Lux???

The same air balloon that Lux had been standing on was the one that had been hit. No wonder it was dark. Had she been hit by the lighting?.

Was she dead?. No no no no.... She couldn't be dead. Lux couldn't be dead. How could she die now?. Was she trying to fulfill that dream I had earlier to be true?.

Hot tears streamed down my face. I couldn't loose her.

"Lux?". I shouted, not minding the cold and the rain anymore.

"Lux?". I shouted again as I stood up on my feet and started walking towards nowhere since the ship was now hanging on one side so I slipped back to where I was.

"Hold on tight. We have no other choice but to sail on the sea now!". Mazu exclaimed.

"What about the devil's pot?". Peter asked.

"It cannot be avoided. We'll have to face it". Mazu replied.

They were all worried about the devil's pot?. What about Lux?.

"Lux?. Has anyone seen Lux?". I shouted.

"She's dead kiddo". I heard someone shout back but I couldn't decipher whom it was.
