Chapter 27 - Red Dragon

Actually, after his second death, he had the idea to drop the mission given to him by his master.

After thinking for a while he decided to enter the dungeon again.

That's because he was still indebted to Severus. Plus, he won't just reveal that he came from the future. But he thought that if they change the difficulty settings then the chance of encountering the Goblin Zombie Lord will be lowered. Instead of picking the much riskier 'Normal Mode', picking Hell Mode was much more enchanting.

"Ok! Let's move on!" Kite stood up and lead the way towards the innermost part of the dungeon. Now that he was back from the future he mostly knew what to expect and what will happen. Changing the difficulty level doesn't mean that the dungeon itself will change. The monster will only grow stronger and fiercer.

Now that Vanessa was accompanying him, Kite could now enjoy the dungeon more. He looked around and took the sight of the beautiful Goblin's Paradise. It was full of trees and the sun was a sight to behold. There seemed to be mountains surrounding this place, sadly they were too far away. Bees and other insects flew everywhere. It will be justified to call this place a Paradise if not for the gores and blood the goblins left when they were slain.

'Now that I think of it... What is actually the 'essence' of a dungeon?'

As a modern transmigrator, his knowledge and insight were much more diverse. His open-mindedness regarding anything in this world was beyond imagination. Because almost anything was possible here. If someone could hear his question, even Vanessa will laugh at him.

No one will ask such an 'obvious question'. It was like on Earth if someone asked you what is the essence of a microwave was. He or she will only look at you in disdain as if he or she was a country bumpkin.

'Isn't the essence of a microwave heating up your food?'

That was to say, the basic fundamentals of how a microwave works might even be unanswerable by the owner of it. What he or she only knew was that it heats up the food.

They encounter the same bosses but Ansel and Kite joined together to kill them. Just like in the future or should I say past, Ansel didn't touch the loots and gave it all for Kite to use or sell.

All the loots were taken by Kite himself. Vanessa laughed at Kite's greedy look when putting these loots in his bag. Kite could only smile wryly. His wealth was not comparable to the two. Unlike them, when Kite first transmigrated to this world, even a beggar was richer than him. He doesn't possess even a single penny when he transmigrated.

If it wasn't for that lucky err sort of lucky event, then he won't have any money to begin his journey.

Remembering the girl that the guard caught, he frowned.

'Is she okay?'

Knowing that it was highly unlikely, he erased this thought. When he was about to praise Ansel for killing the last goblin, a system message made his heart shook.

Quest Details: Kill all the Guards that were responsible for defiling Sherlyn.

'What the heck!?'

This was too sudden. However, one thing was for sure, from the quest details itself...

Sherlyn was already defiled!

Kite was about to suffer a mental breakdown. First was Vanessa's death, second was the trauma from killing himself and death, and now this!

There was no accept button, so meaning after completing the quest will he accept it and claim the reward.

If he could strangle Jax, he would kill him a long ago. Too bad this assh*le was already dead! Killed by a fricking beggar.

Before Vanessa could sense something amiss, Kite already calmed down. His state of mind was much more matured than before, he easily adjusted his chaotic feelings.

Finally, they reach a small palace situated on a small hill. They looked around and realized that the previous happy environment was gone. The sun didn't shine on this place and the area reeked of gloominess.

This was the place they encountered and fought the Hidden Boss. They walked forward to the palace's gate. But unlike what happened in the future, Ansel didn't saw nor touched a strange tomb that summoned the Hidden Boss.

Kite breathed a sigh of relief and finally calm down. He was still nervous since that Hidden Boss could even slay Vanessa in one hit if its attack was left unguarded.

They finally reach the gate and found a way to open it. Just simply pull the rope down in the corner of the gate and it will open.

When they enter the palace only one room was there. They looked around and saw a pitch-black throne in front of them in the center of the room. There were no other creatures here other than the monster sitting on the black throne. Only skeletons remain and treasures were scattered all over the place. The gang stared at the monster in front of them. A formless pressure was being unconsciously released by the third and last boss.

| Hobgoblin King(Last Boss)

Level 15

HP: 2100 |

It was a goblin that was the size of an average human. Strangely though, the monster looked handsome and a crown was on its head. It has a blackish armor with golden engravings and a golden cape that has a red dragon embroidered on its back. Kite looked at the goblin in awe. The hobgoblin was awesome and cool even in his refined standards.

He was fascinated by the appearance of the last boss. The first boss was short but stout and gross-looking. The second one was a frail-looking old goblin. But thank the Titans for the cool-looking appearance of the last boss.

But sadly they have to kill this boss. Kite glanced at its armor and cape. He really wanted those. But all the monsters will magically disappear after picking their loot.

The Hobgoblin King rose from its throne and reach out above it. Suddenly the ground beneath them shook. Cracks appeared all over the palace and a hole was opened up in the middle of the king and the gang.

A translucent red and golden spear appeared in the hole. An illusion of a fire eastern dragon circled the spear. It flew in the direction of the hobgoblin. The king grabbed it and went to a stance that spear users in the east commonly used. Feet apart, head looking forward, one palm pointing at the enemy and the other hand holding the spear placed on the back.

The king was majestic and a strong battle intent flashed through its blood-red eyes.

"Come!"

The three were shocked. Why?

That's because all monsters were unable to speak until they reach Grade 4. But the boss just spoked to come at them. And to reach Grade 4, your level, at the minimum, was at Level 150.

But this boss was just Level 15. It was shown in the system, and the system will not lie to its own host.

But before they can delve further into this mysterious phenomenon, the king had made its move. It moved to a speed that was almost impossible to see with the naked eye.

Vanessa quickly grabbed Ansel and use her own movement technique to flee. While Kite blinked just before the attack came.

The king stopped its dashed and looked in Vanessa's direction. It sensed more danger from this girl among the three.

It prepared its dash once more. Its golden cape was flowing in the air. The ground beneath its feet cracked and headed in Vanessa's direction.

Kite saw all of this and frowned. He was both angered and annoyed. Choosing Vanessa over him hurt his pride. And by attacking Vanessa he was completely disregarding him. Plus Vanessa was his woman!

He used the second charge of his Star Blink and appeared in front of Vanessa. He parried the attack. Vanessa could probably dodge or flee from the attack. But she has Ansel with her. And their only purpose here was to protect and help him in cased of danger.

However, Kite's strength was not enough. He was blown from the attack and smashed to the corner of the palace. Cracks appeared on the wall he smashed into.

Now the King didn't look at Vanessa anymore. The way Kite blocked his attack was almost at the level of a Technique. If Kite practiced for more years he could probably create another technique like the 'Moon Slash'. It also sensed some unique power from Kite.

The hobgoblin looked at Kite and smiled. It opened its mouth and spoke in a hoarse voice.

"I never encountered the rumored Animal Spirit Swordsman class before. To think I'll taste your power before all of you die."
