Chapter 20 - Dungeon

"What are you saying, Kite! Quickly kneel and apologize! That's Severus the Serpent, the strongest swordsman in Purple Moon!" Vanessa quickly said. She was afraid Severus might get angry at Kite's behavior and directly kill him.

Kite looked at her and realize why she is panicking. "I guess I forgot to tell you"

"Forgot what?" Vanessa blinked cutely.

"This old man is my master. Although he is completely useless." Kite blatantly said. It was scarier when he said that without any emotion at all.

"What!?" Vanessa was shocked. To think that Kite's master is none other than the legendary swordsman.

"Hey stop flirting around. I said kneel!"

Severus' voice thundered the whole villa.

"Hey, old man. You're already old for this sort of role-playing. Come here and kneel in front of me instead." Kite yelled. To be honest, he felt comfortable around this man. Although his disposition was scary, the way he interacted with Kite was as if he was his equal. No sort of superiority and belittling came from his gaze and voice. He was a straightforward and crude man.

"Quite arrogant for someone who just asked for my help. You haven't even thanked me yet."

Kite was silent. Severus did help him escaped another calamity.

"Thanks!" Kite bowed to his master shamelessly, forgetting the fact that they were just bantering a while ago.

"That's what I like to hear. Now kneel." Severus laughed

Kite's eyebrow twitched.

'Is this his fetish?'

"Tsk tsk, you're no fun at all." Severus threw him a disgusted look.

Unlike the rumors, Severus was an easygoing person. The word respect wasn't in his vocabulary. Regardless if you were strong or weak, he'll treat you just like how he treats anyone.

And since his system automatically reacted towards Kite, there must be fate between them.

Seeing the exchange between the two, all the maids and Vanessa were silent. The man sitting on the throne was a legendary swordsman. To think he was currently arguing with a kid.

"Ok fine. You don't have to kneel." Severus finally stopped their fight. But then he continued,

"For one condition..."

Before he could continue, Kite interrupted him. "No. Nope. Deny. No thanks"

"Hey, I just save your cute little butt remember?" Severus frowned.

"I accept whatever you throw at me, Master."

Since this old guy helped him earlier, this will be his sign of gratitude. It was also because he didn't want to be indebted to someone in this world.

"Good disciple! Just help my nephew on his dungeon quest. You're already Level 11, right? You level up fast. But I'm still faster when I was your age." Severus was saying the truth. Since he was the son of the creator of the guild, he had a lot of lackeys to help him level up.

The system's friend option always showed the current level of your friends. That's why adding someone as a friend was a show of sincerity.

"What will I do? Escort him? Or help him kill some monster." Kite inquired.

Severus lowered his head for a while. After that, he raised his head and replied, "Just escort him. But if there is danger, do help him. Understand?" He seriously gazed at Kite.

Seeing his master's serious face he nodded. "Understood master!"

"Ansel! Come and greet your uncle's disciple! He is the same age as you. Better befriend each other, alright?" Severus shouted.

After that, a thin boy walked out the corner. He was thin as a stick but his armor was bulky. He held a shield and a short sword.

"I'm Ansel, 15 years old. Level 5 Grade 0 Shield Bearer!" He cutely shouted. Adding his comical look and his thin frame he looked like a child into cosplay rather than a warrior.

He moved in front of Kite and fidgeted. After a second he bowed and spoke meekly, "Please protect me while I'm training in the dungeon."

Kite immediately liked this boy. He was not arrogant compared to what he was thinking earlier. People who grew up while in the environment of being rich tended to be arrogant brats.

Kite stared at his hazel eyes and was quite happy. Those eyes showed innocence and honesty. He nodded and replied, "We'll do our best. I'm Kite and this is Vanessa."

Kite included Vanessa at the party. Since traveling with a kid alone was too boring. He needed some company at the same age as him.

Of course, Vanessa was happy. It seemed Kite was acknowledging her.

Severus was observing them from his throne. He just set up this throne to make fun of Kite but to think he'll bring the daughter of the guild leader of Savior's Guild.

'A warrior and a womanizer. I don't have anything to say!'

He suddenly laughed and all of the people below him stop what they were doing.

"Okay! You can now go to this place" He casually threw a map towards Kite's face. It was too fast that Kite couldn't dodge or catch it. He was hit by it and a slight red mark appeared on his face.

"Eh? You could just hand it to me... " Kite helplessly picked up the map on the ground.

Severus ignored him and spoke, " This is a secret dungeon located in the South Area. It is in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. You'll see your destination there. Put the map near the area you going to and a gate will open". He slowly spoke his instructions word by word.

"Come back before evening. You have six hours to complete the dungeon." It was currently 11 am so they still have a lot of time to explore the area.

One of the maids step out and gave Kite a ring. The ring looked ordinary and some strange lines are engraved on it.

"That storage ring has a space of 5 by 5 meters area. It contained a lot of food and tools. The ring is my gift for you so take it." Severus waved out his hands signaling them to head out.

Kite nodded. "Alright, I'll be leaving."

Although his face was emotionless, deep inside he was excited about his next adventure.

Hopefully, no danger will happen while on the way and inside the dungeon.

'Did I just triggered a red flag?'

After they left, a shadow behind Severus appeared. "Shall I follow them?" The shadowy figure inquired.

"Obviously. Danger is everywhere. Don't let them know you are following them. Go!" Severus stood up from his throne and flickered. He vanished. His speed was fast that no ordinary naked eye could track his movements.
