You try not to show the concern on your face as Nick and his team leave the camp. Your heart starts to pump a little bit faster and you lost your appetite. You excuse yourself and leave Nita alone at the table. You try to go outside and stand against the tent wall facing the ocean. You feel a bit nauseous and you sit on the ground.
You know that this is what Nick does but you remember how he looked after he returned from his last mission. You also know that he's not even yours and you have no right to feel what you feel but just knowing he's here in camp and safe, even though he's with Helena, make you feel everything is as it should be. Now that he's leaving, how will he come back and will he even come back? You didn't even get to say goodbye. You take a deep breath and gather yourself.
(He'll be fine, he's the best. I got to get some rest. I'm just tired)
NICK'S POINT OF VIEW
Nick and his team walk through the camp. He doesn't like to walk through the camp all geared up. He prefers to be focused on the mission before him but there's no other route to their destination.
He knows what lays ahead for them now, he's been through a lot of tough missions before but this isn't soldiers they're going up against today. They don't have honor, they're cold-blooded killers when it comes to protecting their drug money. They don't think of the consequences of their actions. They just protect their drugs. If killing is part of it, so be it.
They leave the camp and all the people in the camp behind. Nick can't afford to think of anyone but his team right now. They walk to the perimeter that they've established when they first got to the island and all the memories about Mike want to come flooding back but Nick pushes it to the background. They move across the perimeter and start to move across the perimeter and start to move out two by two. John and Nick are together, they're moving north. They carefully listen to every sound and see everything.
"Sir" John whispers to Nick. "There's a building over there, we should go check it out?"
"Yeah, let's move in from the south side, there's no windows. They won't see us coming. Remember silence"
"Yes, sir"
They slowly move towards the building and then spot someone with a rifle patrolling the building. They fall to the ground and leopard crawl towards him. Nick signs with his fingers that he will take him out and John must be on the lookout.
Nick moves inch by inch until he's close enough to stand against the wall. The man with the rifle is walking up and down. Nick looks at John and sees that his gun is pointed at the drug dealer, he shows Nick the signal he needs and Nick moves in. He's almost three steps away from him and with one swift move to crack his neck, moving his body up against the wall. Nick signals John that it's clear. John then makes his way to him.
Nick proceeds to the door and John is right next to him. He put his hand on John's shoulder to open the door while he aims to shoot whoever would open the door. John opens the door and immediately Nick opens fire. There's four men in the building and they've successfully took all four out. They then spilt up. Nick takes the door on the right and John the one on the left. He moves soft, like a cat, opening the doors very slowly as he goes through the building.
Nick approaches what looks like the attic and open the hatch. He quickly opens the hatch a look right around him. There's a lot of boxes and he can't e sure if there's someone. He gets inside the attic and move inch by inch clearing the attic. Then from out of nowhere someone jumps him from the back. They fight and assault each other. The man pulls out a knife and cuts Nick on his shoulder, opening his flesh wound from his precious mission. Nick winces a gives a low moan.
"Aaahhh!!"
Nick then maneuvers the man so that his knee is on the man's neck. He knocks the knife out of his hand and pin him on the ground. "Who are you working for?"
"Muhamad malak!!"
"Where's your base?!" Nick pushes a bit harder on his neck.
"In tajidah 'abadana"
He then spits in Nick's face and laughs. Nick staggers a bit back and wipe his face clean. That's enough for him to throw something into his mouth and he chokes himself to death. Nick stands up and realizes that this isn't just a drug operation but also a hideout for some Iraqi organization. He knows that they should get off this island as soon as possible but they are stuck and they should be on high alert. He reaches for his radio. "Bravo1-2 come in"
"Lemir Charlie"
"Red alert. Meet at rondevu point, over"
"Roger, over"
They clear the rest of the building and it's apparent that this island is ground zero to something much bigger than he thought originally. They all regroup.
"I think this building could be a good shelter for the hospital and some of the people. We should just make a big perimeter around the building. Let's get to it boys!"
KIM'S POINT OF VIEW
You had a good nap. You're feeling much better than this morning when Nick left. You know that you don't have to worry about him. They're the best right? You have the rest of the day off and decide to take a swim in the ocean and try and wash yourself. You get all your clothes that you need and walk along the beach until you find a secluded area, away from the camp. You get into your underwear and get into the quiet ocean water.
You let the water flow over yourself just enveloping your entire being. You try and clean yourself going under the water and washing your hair. When you're under, your thoughts go back to Nick as you take a deep breath coming up, you get this sensation that he'll be okay. You get out and dry yourself off. Not far from you, you see a rock overlooking the ocean. You decide to get dressed and sit on the rock watching the sunset.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath of the ocean air. You feel the wind playing in your hair. You feel complete peace and you know you're exactly where you need to be. You might be working harder than any place you've ever worked but here you can make a real difference. You know that you're shipwrecked but it feels so right. Then you hear a voice behind you.
"Hey"
