The next day the dragon come back it was holding 2 black eggs.
"Be thankful that you can come here. This world is truly a treasure for us." He said to me.
"Hey, Umm, I never caught your name," I asked him.
"Archie, I was from the UK before I was brought here by her after a car wreck left my left-wing injured. the Infested healed it now, but I think she wants me to stick around with you until you can head back." He replied. As we were talking he seemed a bit saddened. "My sister, I haven't seen her in a month. She has Autism and while she can function pretty well other than being unable to speak. Me, in my dragon form, for her, I was like a support animal," He said to me.
"And what about your human form?" I asked.
"I never had one. My mother was a dragon shifter, my father was human. But when I was born I had come out scaled and winged. Unable to conceal that fact wasn't a problem for me, I liked it, but I still had my dragon form and my older sister, who was human, actually was comforted when I was just a hatchling in her arms. When I'm with her I'm often in my dragon form by her side. As for the crash, they're all still alive I just worry about her" He replied.
"Your sister, has she even had a dragon try to take her?" I asked him.
"Plenty of times by the same one, but it seems like a game for her because after the fact they're laying down with each other. We've been trying to get her to admit for weeks that she's wanted to dawn scales like me; just like you're afraid to," he replied.
"Me? I never wanted to get dragged into this mess!" I told him.
"Oh come on the 3 of us know that you wanted this, you've been socializing with her for 10 years now," He replied.
"Who's the third?" I asked.
"really, you forget I'm here that quickly," the humanoid snake replied. She seemed to like the brown soil that was around the spring. "You coming here?" She said to me. I turned into my human form and walked over to her, unsure of what to expect. As I sit down next to her she nicked my hand with her fang.
"Ow! that better of been a dry bite," I told her.
Then I was hearing a voice that sounded like her. "Just relax it'll be a while before they hatch," she said to me.
"You make that sound weird but I'm getting tired so if you need me I guess you can use that odd voice of yours," I replied. I didn't realize she snoozed with me.
Our dreams seemed interconnected as I was on a couch next to her, covered in white scales with 2 points on the back of my head instead of one like her. "Feels different doesn't it. The tail for legs is something new for you." She said to me. we talked for what seemed to be hours. "Here, change forms and let me put this on." She said to me, holding some sort of silk clothing. When I changed forms she slipped my noodle-like body into it. What I didn't realize is that it was patterned from its hood to the tail. "Oh, you look so good in it!" She said to me.
"did you make any others?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I have one for your dragon form. I have you wear it when we wake up." She replied. I'd probably regret asking that, but it's not like I have much else to do.
Once we woke up she went over and grabbed the clothing she'd mentioned earlier. After getting up she said to me: "come on, change forms so I can get this on you." I change forms and as she puts it on me I look at the design on it and it looked stunning.
"oh man, I didn't expect her to have one of those. Leave that on, you'll need to get used to that form anyhow." I heard something say to me. I look and her and Archie but they looked like they didn't say anything. I look at the dragon, it looked back trying to show a smile. I just walked over to the pond to get a drink, not thinking much of it.
"When will they hatch?" She asked. I tried to say something but all that came out was a slight grunt, but I knew from experience, and Lily keeping track, it would be a week before they'd come out.
"It'll be maybe a week before they hatch. Might be less than another day for Lily though." Archie said to us.
The next day as I was munching on fish, which I guess the dragon and Archie ate often, we saw one of the eggs move. I was partly human out of that outfit saying: "Archie! One of them is about to hatch!" That's when a black claw burst out of the egg, then it pushed forward some of the egg she was in, and out came Lily her hair now a mess and covered from the neck down in the same black scales as me.
"Man, do I look good, any leftover fish? I need something to eat," she said to us trying to flap her wings.
"There's some over here if you need any Lily," I told her. The dragon then called me over to her. I stayed partly human but she had me turn into my dragon form.
"Come, let me show you the world around us," I heard something say. That's when it hit me, she was the one talking. Somehow I could understand what she was saying but Lily seemed unaware. I followed her out of the cave, flying over the forest. After a few minutes, she said: "Land here, " landing near a couple of other dragons.
As I landed they looked as if they were shocked to see me.
I could hear one of them say: "you, actually got him? We've been after him for 11 years with no luck. How'd you grab him?"
"Persistence and a lot of bonding, that's how I got him. For an entire decade, I would drag him into a convenient location to strengthen our bond. One day, the day before I marked him he held onto me and wouldn't let go and that's when I knew he wasn't going to wait any longer," She replied
he looked like he were jealous of her, their hatchlings though, the blue scaled one felt off. He also didn't look like his captor when in that form. He had scales but his tail looked similar to the ones I saw in the lab. He also didn't seem to have a roar to him I only heard clicks, but the 2 tubes on his back made it clear that he wasn't all human when he was born. I asked him where he was from but I couldn't understand him at all. I asked his captor, all she knew was it was near a shining arch. That made it clear to me, he was from St Louis.
I wasn't sure what this was supposed to be at first, but it seemed to be a playdate more than anything else. While most of them played the blue one looked as if he recognized my voice.
"He's supposed to go home in another week or 2. I don't know why but he never seemed to be interested in seaweed," his captor said to me. That's when my captor walked over to me trying to get me to come and play with the others.
"You coming?" I asked him. He followed me to them, looking as if he had nothing else to do.
We played for maybe a few hours before they'd let us change forms, And as I saw his human form I realized his mother must have been impregnated while pregnant with him. His veins were black, he had a tail in his human form but his skin was still human. His eyes were a bold black, and he seemed to have an extra jaw.
That's when I heard a few screams and saw Infested chasing after the others. I ran after the Infested, trying to give them enough time to flee. I clawed at the ones going after them while I saw him tackle the one commanding them, fighting with his tail and claws. After the infested ran I turned to my human form and headed back to the dragons.
"Nice going kiddo, you and your new friend fight them off while they run. It makes them look bad for something that can fly," One of them said to me.
As night fell we slept under their wings; the heartbeat of mine keeping me calm through the night. But I got woke up by something moving and as I look around. I see that the blue one had that same creature near it looking at each of us. The dragon lulled me to sleep again, seemingly unphased by what was near us.
"Don't worry about it you'll be fine," the dragon said to me.
When daytime rose, I felt a bit odd. That's when I realized the void spirit had put a helm of crystal on me. I look around at the other and realize that the blue one had a similar helm on.
"Meet up once we get home? I'll give you my location." I heard a voice say. That's when an image came to my mind that looked like an abandoned building. It must have been where his hive was.
I told him I'd be there and flew back to the cave. When we got back to our cave I saw Lily in the pond playing in the water. When I landed I turned partly human and said to her, "Lily, we're back." She turned around glad to see me.
"Glad to see your back," she said to me.
