Leonardos Diary entry 36 :
The tools and devices the strang man calling himself Kieron Medici uses are truly marvelous. Although I have no idea what most of them do, and after asking for an explenaition it confused me more than it enlightened me, the few things I do understand are just increadible. He has a weapon, which uses no runes whats so ever, but has the strength to penetrate through full plate armor. The recovery of the ark is coming nearer every day.

*Leonardo POV*
The monotone unchanging road continued on for a long time.
How cold someone find this thing beautiful?
The pale blue light of Aurora was illuminating the forest, but not what was beneath them. Even living my whole live on the road, it was still unsettling, especially since you knew which creatures were lurking beneath.
The beginning of our problems was announced by a blinding light in the distance, that looked like someone had taken a piece of the sun to throw it at they enemy, as well as a beastly scream howling in pain. However it was, such might could only be released by a high priest of the light, and that meant it was way out of our league. Hastening our footsteps I noticed that Kieron looked concerned as well.
After a few minuets I could already smell the smoke and fire that was caused by whoever fought.
Then we could see a humanoid only a few hundred meter in front of us stumbling out from the edge previously hidden by the thick under grow.
I looked at the man next to me, his exotic getup partially concealed by the worn out cloak.
Then in a hushed voice, as not to alarm whatever was in front of us I spoke to him.
"Hey Kier be quiet for a bit, that man might be dangerous."
I could see the visible displeasure for the abbreviation, but in the end he just nodded. Although he was sometimes a bit strange I had to respect the remarkable cool he entered new situations.
While my companion was reading his strange weapons, I quickly looked for cover so when he got out of his stupor he would not see us immediately.
There was none, as the light from the lamps prevented the plants to overgrowth the road and I didn't want to go from where that man came from there was obviously something dangerous in the forest.
The Lights, in a sudden flash of inspiration I placed myself in front of the nearest one, one had to use every advantage one could get.
Looking at the man I cold observe a silver emblem on his chest displaying a sun.
Dammit why did we have to run into worship , and judging by his bloody clothes he fled from the fight.
A worship was already bad enough, as part of the race that revered the grate ones and destroyed the empire, they were not on particularly good terms with us humans, one could even say that we were almost slaves under them.
Then he turned his head to me.
It was an ashen half blood. A traitor by birth, a scumbag.
And it, it was not fit to designate as anything other than a thing, was mad, its eyes white and its face contorted in rage it clearly lost its sanity.
My whole body tensed up as I slowly reached for my throwing knife, he would be dead before he even reached us.
There was a small moment of stillness before i heard the muffled sound produced by kierons weapon.
The creature, as it can only be named as such, shook back before a hole opened up in its stomach, but before I could rejoice the remaining mental pieces ricocheted of a pale silver shield that formed around it. And worse the wound already stopped bleeding, it was clearly not fatal.
And then it readied a spear the creature pulled from its back and walked towards us, trying not to
Its ability looked like it would offer it quite a bit of protection, and it clearly had a high mastery off it, much different than how I controlled my ability.
But the protection was only reactionary, as it wasn't able to fend of the first hit.
I quickly coated a knife with the curse pouring all the mental power i could muster in it ,and threw two of them on the enemy.
The first, a regular one expectedly bounced of the shield but it was not supposed to hit from the start.
Because of the light source in my back it was hard to spot the second knife I threw shortly after and when it noticed it was already too late.
With a dull sound the projectile impacted its left shoulder, the insane creature managed to this its body in the last moment.
But that wasn't the aim anyway, I could already see the flesh around the knife beginning to rot and decay and clearly it noticed too.
Just as it started to sprint in our direction, I could feel a surprisingly strong hand grabbing my shoulder and yanking me backwards.
"RUN"
Not enough time to question what was happening, I just followed the voice.
Moments later he quickly threw us both onto the forest floor.
Why would he
"BOOOM"
The whole forest shook, and the shock wave which followed almost ruptured my ear.
My eyes still blinded and my ears hurting the whole world spun around me. That's when the man, I noticed now was Kier took my arm over his shoulder and dragged me out ot the forest.
Stabilizing my breath I looked in the direction of the explosion, I had lived through worse, my injury's were not serve, not by a long shot.
There a half charred and half rotten creature dragged itself out of the smoke, only to caught out blood and collapse. Dead.
It was truly surprising how much these creatures could endure. It was no wonder losing control of your mind was one of the most shunned and shameful way to go for a worship. Wouldn't want an army of painless intelligent beasts equiped with magic running around my domain either.
"That was a hell of fight but we made it out alive. I am just curious, what weapon did you use in the end?"
Silence, strange.
I looked at my friend, did he suffer more than he let show?
I only then noticed that he looked horrible. Not physical, he didn't have so much of a scratch, no his complexion was pale and his face frozen in shock. Right he lived a sheltered life, that must have been too much.
