"Alright, let's see what William needs to talk about!," Allen said out loud, as he finished up his classwork. With class over with the day, it was time to meet up with the head director.
When the afterparty had concluded and they had stuck around to help clean up, William had advised Allen that he had something important to discuss with him. William assured him it wasn't anything bad, but it still left Allen slightly anxious. Just what was so important to talk about with the year almost over?
"Alright you all, class is over!," Ms. Florence announced, setting down the textbook. "You all are dismissed!"
As the swarms of students got up from their seats and began to chatter as they left the room, Allen and his friends stuck around for just a moment before heading over to William's office.
"Well, I'm surprised! Ms. Florence has actually been teaching everyday!," Thomas exclaimed.
"To be fair, with her teaching the C ranked students, she doesn't have a choice," Cecily pointed out, as she finished reading a page in her textbook.
"But, I'm glad she's putting the effort in," Allen nodded in approval. "Despite her views on magic, she's helping the rest of us learn!"
After Ms. Florence was promoted to begin teaching the C ranked students, it became effective immediately, despite the year almost over. With Allen, Thomas, Cecily and several other students already moving to C rank, it was only natural they needed her in the position immediately. Even their friends Adam, Oliver, and Sybil who were once D ranked and in their class previously were moved to Ms. Florence's classroom. Was that a coincidence too?
"Anyways, I believe it's a good idea to head over to William's office," Cecily suggested. "Don't want to keep everyone waiting"
"Right!," Allen and Thomas nodded at the same time.
The three of them made their way over to the head director's office, where William and hopefully everyone else was already present. It had been a long time since all of them were in that office at once, since Ellen had previously taken over and had disbanded their training club.
Come to think of it, the last time we were in there might have been club related, Allen thought. Perhaps-
"Come in, everyone else is already here," William's voice boomed from inside.
The three of them opened the door slowly, completely opposite of Rose's normal entrance. The rest of their friends were already seated: Rose, Stephen, August and Alice (not Sarah this time, thankfully). William sat at his desk, with his attention on the three of them making their entrance. To the left of William was Vice Director Martha Clark.
"Please, take your seats," William advised them, motioning with his hands. "We are just waiting on one more"
"Wait, who are we waiting for?," Stephen asked out of curiosity, as Allen, Thomas and Cecily took their seats.
"You'll see," William smirked, as everyone gave him a curious look.
A few minutes had only gone by until their other guest had arrived. Silence filled the room, as everyone was surprised to see the last person they all expected.
"You'd better make this quick, William," Ms. Florence sighed, as she closed the door behind her.
"Oh don't worry, this shouldn't last long," William assured her. "Nice seeing you, Danet"
"Can't say I feel the same," she grunted, as she stood to the right of William.
Allen and his friends all looked in surprise at the sudden entrance of none other than Ms. Florence herself. Just what could she be doing here? And she even agreed to be here?
"I have to say, your outfit looks great on you," William commented, with a sly grin.
"Oh really?," Ms. Florence looked at him with bored eyes. "It's not like all of the female teachers wear the same thing"
"Yes, but it looks-"
"William!," Ms. Clark shouted, bonking the top of his head with her hand.
"What?!," William asked, as if he didn't know what he did wrong. Everyone could only sigh, except for Stephen who agreed with him. Like father, like son.
Once the room settled down once more, the meeting could finally begin.
"Firstly I would like to begin saying my thanks to all of you," William smiled as he looked at each of them with high approval. "Your help in setting up the afterparty and cleaning it up afterwards was greatly appreciated"
"Of course William," Rose acknowledged. "The Student Council will always help"
"And the Student Council and yourself will always drag me along with you," Stephen remarked, before Rose gave him a glare.
"It wasn't all that bad," Thomas added. "Got to talk to everyone as we got things done! We didn't even have to study-"
"You will be doing that later Tom," Cecily interjected, before Thomas tried to plead with her.
"Better than anything going on in my father's council," August shrugged, as he leaned back into his chair.
"Yeah we all don't mind helping!," Allen agreed.
"Well, that's good to hear," William smiled. "Anyways, back onto the main topic"
Everyone leaned forward in anticipation and curiosity for what their head director had to say. Just what was so important that he wanted all of them there for it?
"After a short discussion with the other vice directors, Martha and Walter, we are proud to announce that with my returned position as head director, I am able to reinstate your training club!"
Everyone became immediately overjoyed, and the room turned unbearably loud as all of them celebrated the return of their training club. Ms. Florence called for an immediate silence, and everyone promptly listened and quieted down.
"I know you're all excited, but I need you all quiet until the end," William advised them, and they all acknowledged him with a nod. "Instead of Martha being your temporary club sponsor, we now have an official club sponsor for you, although they were hesitant at first…"
All eyes were now on Ms. Florence, as everyone suspected that must be the reason she was here. She didn't react nor said anything, and left William to continue.
"Danet has agreed to be your club sponsor, regarding recent circumstances," William continued. "With Ms. Florence now teaching C ranked students, it's only fitting that she becomes a club sponsor to help all of you out, and to also thank you for your helpful involvement recently during Ellen's unwanted presence"
"Thank you!," Allen and his friends all said at once, as they all smiled in Ms. Florence's direction.
"Hmph, make no mistake, I won't be assisting in any way with your club," Ms. Florence explained, with her arms crossed. "Think of me as a stand in, so that way you can continue your club"
"Oh come now, you can't help them at all?," William asked, smirking. "You did score very well on your tests back in the day, both written and physical"
"Wait really?!," Allen said, perplexed. "Ms. Florence, you never told us about that!"
The rest of Allen's friends nodded in agreement as all eyes were once again on her.
"No comment," Ms. Florence answered, her arms remained crossed, and she avoided eye contact.
With Ms. Florence now as their club sponsor, their club could now be considered truly official. All that was left was returning Allen as their club president. At first Allen wanted to disagree, but was left with no choice when everyone once again pointed out that he was the best fit for the position.
Allen had already been club president once before, but everyone agreed that he was by far the most deserving of the position, considering he worked the hardest to help bring William back as their rightful head director. With Allen winning the tournament and proving his strength, he was by far the best fit for the position.
Besides, Rose would be graduating soon, since she is a third year. Stephen has no desire to be in a leadership position, and August is too preoccupied with his prince duties here and there. That simply left Allen out of all of the possible leadership candidates, and in the end Allen accepted once again.
"Before we wrap up this meeting, is there anyone else you would like to add to the club?," William asked, looking at each of them.
"What about Charles?," Allen suggested.
The room got quiet as everyone was hesitant to answer. Although everyone was beginning to get on good terms with Charles, he was still somewhat annoying for them to deal with. In addition, Charles has never seemed amused hanging out with them either.
"If I might add," Thomas put his hand up. "While Charles has been a problem for all of us in the past, he has certainly gotten better. His attitude towards everyone is turning friendlier, and he also was a great help towards Allen for Allen's duel against Nathaniel in the tournament"
"Good point," Stephen agreed with him. "Honestly, I don't have much of an issue with Charles. If he causes no problems, he's free to join"
"He's certainly caused some problems for the student council in the past, but his record recently has been clean," Rose added.
Silence filled the room as no one else had anything to add. William waited a moment before speaking.
"Well as long as no one has an issue, we may add Charles to the training club, provided he wishes to join," William confirmed. "Allen, you can be the one to ask him"
"Right!"
"Anyone else have anyone to add?"
"Ooh, what about Adam, Oliver and Sybil?," Thomas chimed in.
"Who?," everyone but Allen and Cecily asked.
Allen did his best to explain who they were to the rest of his friends. They might have been mentioned in the past, but only the three of them have had any dealings with Adam and his friends. With all of them now at C rank, it would make it much easier to ask them if they still wanted to join, as they wanted to previously.
No one had an issue with adding the three of them, the more the merrier. With that, that left Allen, Thomas and Cecily to ask them at their easiest convenience.
After a few more minor topics were discussed, the meeting had come to a close. The finer details left for the club were finalized, and everyone was left satisfied. William and Martha had returned to their duties, and Ms. Florence went back to her classroom.
Several days had gone by, and the official meeting of the club was near. Everyone was excited to finally meet back up, however there was something standing in all of their ways - the final exam.
While Allen had passed his conditions given to him by William at the beginning of the year in order to prove himself and make it to his second year, that still didn't excuse him from the same tests all students are required to pass before they move on.
Allen, Thomas and Cecily were all back in Ms. Florence's class, in the same newer classroom they have begun to start becoming acquainted to. Allen and Thomas were reasonably worried about the exam, but Cecily assured them as long as they did their studying, they would be fine. This did not assure Thomas, however.
Luckily all of them managed to pass, which meant there would be no issues making it to their second year. They would continue to have Ms. Florence as their teacher in the second year, unsurprisingly enough. The only thing that would potentially change this if they managed to make it to B rank.
With the final exams out of the way, and the stress finally leaving everyone, the training club could finally meet once again. Allen got the keys back for the smaller training room they used to always use for their training sessions, as well as any other club activities.
With everyone meeting in the training room, it really felt like a full house with everyone there. Allen, Thomas, Cecily, Stephen, Rose, Alice, and August were all present. However, they had some new members.
Charles, Adam, Oliver, and Sybil were now officially club members, after they had been asked to join and did any necessary paperwork with it. With this, this marked eleven members, or twelve if you counted Sarah, who was Alice's other personality.
Everyone had promptly introduced themselves, as Charles didn't know the other newcomers, and Adam's group likewise did not know Charles, or anyone else outside of their former D ranked classmates.
With the time they had after their classes, they all began their training, going up into pairs to face one another. Since they had an odd number of members, that left Allen to proceed over everyone, as they all agreed both the club president and the tournament victor can assist everyone else with their own training.
While Allen may not be experienced with spellcasting, he knows the very basics, taught to him by William when he was younger. Anything Allen was unaware of, Stephen or Rose could simply fill in the gaps.
But while everything was going back to what it was before William's removal, the end of the year meant one thing - Rose would be graduating, and moving on. This meant they would be spending their final days as both a club as well as friends of the same academy.
The third year's graduation ceremony was just upon them, which meant Rose would be leaving soon. And everyone will make sure they will be able to say their goodbyes to not only their student council president, but as well as their good friend.
