A week had already passed since everyone had met in William's office and the idea of forming a club was brought to light. While Allen had decided forming a club would be a good idea to make training together easier, it is still possible that everyone may not agree.
Thomas had always been open to the idea, since the first day. He has always been one to be social, so when something social like a club is brought up, he is all for it.
Cecily, on the other hand, is a bit opposite to Thomas. She's more of the shy type, but once you get to know her she starts to open up. She may not completely agree to starting up a club, but she will probably be okay with it if everyone else wants to. While the shy type, she still likes to be around everyone she is close with, and if being in a club adds to that she is sure to agree to it.
The past week has been just like any other week for the three of them in class. The three of them would study together, making sure they were caught up on everything. If they wanted to pass the D ranked exam with flying colors, they needed to make sure they were 110% prepared.
Cecily was by far the furthest one ahead when it came to subjects about magic. The time she didn't spend outside with Thomas as children she spent in her room studying the books they had in her family home. She had an early start when it came to elemental magic knowledge. She was normally the one making sure Allen and Thomas were caught up.
Allen was next in the list when it came to elemental magic knowledge. Most of his knowledge came from William when he trained Allen for the five years. However, most of his knowledge fell under the practical kind instead of theoretical and historical knowledge. This led to him still needing to study regardless.
Thomas was by far at the bottom. He had a hard time concentrating when it came to studying information on paper. Even if he tried, he still found the information boring, which did not help. He was more interested in practical knowledge, however the first part of the D ranked exam had to do with historical and theoretical knowledge, which would be all answered on paper.
Before going to the next study topic, Cecily always wanted all of them to be on the same page. Since Thomas was a bit slow with studying, it would usually take them longer for a topic than it would had he been more interested in what they were doing.
"No, no, no, Thomas. You're getting it all wrong," Cecily sighed after she looked over Thomas' answers to a practice test she issued.
"What do you mean? I honestly thought they were great answers!," Thomas argued. "I even went into detail like you wanted"
"Yes the detail is great, but it doesn't mean anything if they are all wrong!," Cecily put her face in her hands in annoyance.
"Allen, I'm sure I got those right! Tell her I got those right!," Thomas pleaded.
"No Thomas, they were all wrong. You didn't get a single one correct. Even the easiest question about elemental circles was wrong," Allen sighed.
"Whatever," Thomas looked away in annoyance and started to whistle and spin his pen in his hand.
"We're getting nowhere with him, what do we do Allen?," Cecily let her face drop on her desk, tired.
"Honestly, I don't know. I'm starting to think we're going to have to pass the exam without him," Allen rubbed his forehead.
"I- what? I won't fail the exam! I'll score better than both of you! I'll even score a new record at this academy with the exam!," Thomas grinned, putting his pen back on his desk.
"Yeah, okay Thomas," Allen and Cecily said at the same time.
Thomas just shrugged in return and went back to working on his drawing he was doing instead of studying.
After what felt like forever of trying to get Thomas back into studying, class had finally ended.
"You're all dismissed," Ms. Florence announced, not looking up once from her book ever since class started.
"Well, time to meet William in his office, right?," Thomas grinned, quickly packing up his books and paperwork.
"I give up," Cecily fell down on her desk in defeat.
"I second that," Allen laid back into his chair.
"Let's go, time's a wastin," Thomas tried to pull Cecily out of her chair, but she wouldn't budge an inch.
"Let's just go. We can deal with this tomorrow," Allen suggested while getting out of his chair.
"That's probably the 50th time we have decided to 'deal with it tomorrow,'" Cecily started to pack her stuff together.
"Guess we should start heading to William's office," Allen sighed as Thomas was already out the door.
` Once Allen and Cecily finally caught up to Thomas, they were on their way to William's office to meet up with everyone else.
"Oh by the way Cecily, how did your small reunion with Alice go?," Thomas asked as the three of them walked together.
"It went great," she smiled.
"That's good to hear. Did you guys talk about anything?"
"Just catching up on one another. Stuff like what's been going on at the academy for the both of us," Cecily replied.
"Anything else?"
"Uh, well there was something else, but…"
"Something else?," Allen asked, curious.
"Well it's… not an easy matter…"
"You don't have to tell us if you don't want to," Allen assured her.
"No, it's not that. It's just… she… nevermind"
"Sounds a bit of a mouthful. You can tell us later if you want," Allen suggested.
"Thank you"
"Well, it seems like we are already here," Thomas announced as they arrived at the door to William's office.
"Well, let's just head inside. I'm sure William already knows we're here," Allen said as he began to open the creaky door.
"Oh chill out, I didn't do anything!"
"Says the moron!"
"What the-," Thomas exclaimed, taking in the scene in front of them.
As they walked in, they saw what seemed to be Stephen and Rose arguing. William was sitting at his desk, his hand on his forehead like he was already done. Alice casually remained standing on the side, as if nothing was happening. She gave them a small smile as they walked in.
"Pollen"
"My names not Pollen!," Allen exclaimed.
"Okay Pollen"
"Oh great, Allen's here. Allen can you please sort out your friend Stephen here?," Rose looked at him like she was asking Allen to throw Stephen out the window or something.
"Allen, can you please settle Rose here? I didn't do anything to her!," Stephen looked at him like Rose was overreacting.
"Umm, can someone please explain to me just what happened before I even think to pick a side?," Allen asked, caught off guard.
"These two are the reasons I'm starting to get more headaches," William sighed, looking up at the three of them like he needed help in this matter.
"Okay, but what happened?," Allen asked.
"Rose's just mad because she decided to flip up her skirt and reveal her-"
"You moron!," Rose yelled as she punched him in the gut.
Stephen quickly fell to the floor, caught off guard by the sudden punch.
"Umm, maybe we should return later?," Thomas asked, half concerned, half confused.
"She's just mad because I saw her pink p-"
"You absolute perverted moron!," she had yelled as she gave him probably the worst drop kick he had experienced in his life.
"Stephen, are you okay?," the three of them rushed over to him, but he already looked like he was out of it.
"Allen, I need to tell you something before… before I go," Stephen mumbled.
"What is it?," Allen asked, leaning in to listen.
"Rose… Rose has pink-"
Stephen couldn't finish his sentence because he had already passed out.
"What? He was a moron, he deserved it," Rose casually said while everyone in the room stared at her. She took a seat like nothing happened.
A moment later, William had explained to them that Rose had accidentally flipped up her skirt while she was moving some stuff around in the room while they waited for the three of them. Shortly after his explanation, Stephen regained consciousness. After everything was all explained and settled, everyone took their seats in the room.
"Forgetting what happened earlier, let's start, shall we?," William announced as he had everyone's attention.
"About this supposed club we would be forming?," Rose asked.
"Correct. You all could form a club, which would make training with each other much easier. It would also be an easier way for all of you to connect better and get along," William explained.
"Hmph, I think I will be fine with everyone here in the room aside from that perverted moron," Rose looked in the opposite direction from Stephen.
"Hey! I am not a moron!," Stephen exclaimed.
"You definitely are one!," Rose yelled back at him.
"Uh, Stephen, you didn't deny you were perverted," Allen brought up, giving him a look.
"Maybe," Stephen shrugged.
"So you admit you are a pervert then?," Rose glared at him.
"Perhaps," Stephen shrugged again, but had a small smirk on his face.
"Alright, enough. Don't make my headache worse," William sighed.
"Well maybe if Stephen didn't-"
"Alright, we can talk about that later. Just… ignore him," William took a second to breathe, putting his face into his hand.
"Hmph fine, but just for now," Rose crossed her arms again.
"Now then, once again back to the topic at hand. How does everyone feel about the club?," William asked. "Don't worry about anything else yet. Just tell me your thoughts on the club after you were given the week"
"I'll start," Stephen put his hand up. "I think it would be a great idea. We would have easier access to the training facilities, which would ultimately make it easier to train together, if we so wish"
"Good thinking Stephen. Alright, who's next?" William asked.
"I'll go next!," Thomas quickly put up his hand. "I think it would be an amazing idea! Training together is one thing, but all being in a club together would be even better! It would allow us to hang out and talk to each other better!"
"Great, that is the point of a club. Who is up next?"
"I suppose I will go next," Allen was the next to raise his hand. "I agree with both Stephen and Thomas equally. Being a club together would be fun, but it would also make things easier for all of us. Since we would be a training focused club, it would allow us access to the training grounds much easier. Also, not all of us have to train together every day throughout the week if we are busy, but we can still all remain club members."
"A bit of a mouthful, but good nonetheless. Alright there's three of you left, who's next?"
"I'll go," Cecily slowly put her hand up. "I am personally not a big fan of clubs, but if this is something that all of you want to do, then I'm all for it too"
"Thank you Cecily. Alright, two left, who will be next?"
"Yes," Alice said immediately after William spoke, not even raising her hand up.
"Uh, anything else to add to that Alice?," William awkwardly asked.
"A club would be good. Training good. Works out," she responded with a slight smile on her face.
"Well if that's all you have to add, then alright," William smiled at her and then turned his head towards Rose. "You've been quiet this whole time. Like to add anything Rose?"
"Personally, I am against it," Rose crossed her arms.
"Why?," Allen, Thomas, and Stephen all asked at once.
"Even after a week, my answer is about the same for you. I am already preoccupied with the Student Council, mostly because of someone not getting their paperwork done on time," She glared at William.
"I'm not sure what you mean, but alright," William chuckled.
"As much as I would like to train with all of you, I'm not sure if I can really commit to a club. I still also have my regular assignments and activities for my regular classes too," Rose added.
"Yeah, that's fair. If you don't want to be in the club Rose, you don't have to be," Allen assured her.
"No, it's not that. I do want to be in the club, but I'm not sure if I can train with you guys all the time," Rose explained.
"Allen did mention earlier that even though it's a club, not all members have to be present for training," William added.
"Oh right, forgot about that," Rose shrugged with a smile on her face.
"You weren't paying attention, were you Rose?," Stephen looked over at Rose while resting his head on his hand in the chair.
"Hmph, of course I was listening"
"Sure, sure"
"Anyways, I think that concludes everyone's thoughts on the matter. Considering everyone is at least somewhat interested, I think we can start to get this club rolling," William grinned.
"Yes! I'm excited," Thomas said while practically dancing in his seat.
"Great, waiting for things to get interesting," Stephen grinned.
"Glad to see it finally happening," Allen grinned as well.
"Wait hold on, didn't we need a club sponsor? Last I checked we did not have one," Rose brought up.
"Ah, good point. However, I did say I would take care of that, didn't I?," William leaned forward into his chair, adjusting his glasses.
"And exactly how would you take care of that?," Rose stared at him with her arms crossed.
"Simple," William grinned while snapping his fingers.
Suddenly the door to the room squeaked open, and in came an unexpected visitor.
"Ms. Clark?," several of them all said at once.
"Hello everyone!," she waved at all of them while entering the room.
"Wait William," Rose quickly spoke up. "You can't be serious"
"Oh, but I am," William leaned forward in his chair again.
Ms. Clark took her usual spot next to William's desk. Everyone in the room was confused. Why bring a director in if he was talking about finding a sponsor?
"William, we both know that only teachers can be club sponsors? It's not like I dislike Ms. Clark or anything, but I don't think she can be the sponsor for our club," Rose explained.
"That's true, only teachers are allowed to become sponsors for clubs. However, in rare cases, a vice director can temporarily become a sponsor for a new club, until that new club can find a teacher to help sponsor the club. All you need is the head director approval, and well I am conveniently the head director after all," William explained.
"That's not a bad idea," Allen added. "Definitely sounds like something you would pull William"
"But still, it would be weird that a vice director out of nowhere decided to sponsor our new club. How do you think everyone in the academy would react?," Rose argued.
"And everyone in the academy isn't going to react to not only the student council president joining the club, my son who is also an A rank, a Terrastone and a Rivertide, and also an F ranked student who has managed to go toe to toe against almost all of you?," William argued back.
"I-,"
"You're not winning this one Rosy," Stephen grinned.
"I- Shut up you Steph!"
Thomas and Cecily both looked at each other for a moment and then started to silently laugh throughout the exchange.
"Rose, William does have a good point. Might as well accept it for what it is," Allen shrugged.
"Hmph, I guess you have a good point," Rose slouched back into her chair.
"Well Ms. Clark, you don't have any objections to temporarily becoming their club sponsor, do you?," William looked over at her for her answer.
"I do not. I'll be happy to be their temporary club sponsor until they can find a teacher to fit the spot," Ms. Clark replied with a smile.
"Well there you have it you all. Ms. Clark will be your temporary sponsor until you six can find a suitable sponsor. Do we have any objections?
"None," the five of them except Rose replied.
"Rose?"
"Yeah, it'll be fine…"
"Well then, all that's left before we officially sign you all up is to determine a club president. Any ideas?"
Everyone turned to Rose, who seemed to be the obvious choice.
"Oh no, not me," Rose stood up quickly and shook her head. "I already explained earlier that I am already preoccupied with student council duties and classwork. I won't have too much time with the club as is. There's no way I can add being the club president to my already busy schedule"
"Yeah, but out of all of us here, you would be the best choice for the club president. You have experience when it comes to management," Allen made a point.
"Yes, that is true, and I thank you for acknowledging my skills. However, I will not be able to commit to that. I will not be in the club if you force me to be the president for it," she declared.
"Hold on Rose, I doubt anyone here would force you into that position," William raised his hands up in an attempt to calm her down. "We will just have to pick someone else"
"Nah, I would've forced her," Stephen said with a smirk.
Rose gave him a look like he was already dead before she would kill him.
"I was just kidding, chill out," Stephen raised his hands up in defense.
"Hmph, I thought so," Rose sat back in her chair.
"Well, anyone else?," William asked, looking throughout the room.
"I would love to take the position, but I doubt I would be able to do well in the role," Thomas sighed.
"I don't think I would be a good candidate either. I'm not good at leading roles," Cecily added.
"Well, that makes two less candidates," William announced. "I doubt you'd want the position, Alice?"
"Negative, not for me," Alice said with her same blank face.
"Well then, guess it falls to you two. Stephen, Allen, which of you wants to be the club president?"
"He should be it," they both said at the same time, pointing at each other. "Uh no, you should be it!"
"It's like they're talking to a mirror," Rose shoved her face into her hand in the chair.
"Stephen, I think you would be the best option. You would be a better role for a leadership position than I would," Allen argued.
"I personally think I would get too distracted to be the president. Out of all of us here, subtracting Rose, you have the most potential to lead the club," Stephen argued back.
"Yeah, too distracted by the women of this academy," Rose rolled her eyes.
"You're damn right!"
"Hey, watch your language in here Stephen," William said after being caught off guard.
"Uh, yes father…," he reluctantly agreed.
"Well both of us don't want to be the club president. Should we just vote then? Just vote for whoever you think is the best candidate?," Allen suggested.
"That would work, if you had an odd number of people," William brought up. "There's Rose, Alice, Thomas and Cecily. An even number of people who can vote. I and Martha would have to step out of it, as we would not be members of the club. Why don't we instead do a coin toss?"
"Seems fair," Allen agreed.
"Why not?" Stephen added.
"Alright, who wants heads and who wants tails?," William asked while finding a coin from his desk.
"I'll take whatever Allen doesn't take," Stephen shrugged.
"Alright then, guess I'll take heads," Allen shrugged.
"Shoot, where did my special coin go?," William said, while rummaging through his desk.
"Here, you can borrow one of my coins," Ms. Clark handed him her coin.
"Ah, thank you. Rose, why don't you do the honors of flipping the coin?," William suggested.
"Sure, I don't see an issue with it," she agreed as she walked over and took the coin from him.
"If it lands on your choice, you become President! Let the coin flipping commence!," William announced as Rose casually flipped the coin into the air.
It flipped in the air what seemed like a hundred times, and finally landed onto Williams desk. William observed the coin, and carefully picked it up so it wouldn't accidentally flip over to the other side.
"Well?," Rose asked, while everyone was eager to find out the answer.
"Heads," William announced, showing the coin to everyone.
"Great job Allen!," Thomas congratulated him.
"Looks like I won," Stephen grinned, glad that he didn't become the president.
"Shoot," Allen leaned back into his chair.
"Oh don't look so down. It's a big thing to become a president of a club here!," William tried to cheer him up.
"As if I didn't get enough attention from everyone in the academy already," Allen sighed.
"You'll get used to it, don't worry," Rose patted his shoulder.
"Allen, don't look so down, I think you'll make a great club president!," Thomas grinned. Everyone in the room nodded in agreement.
"I guess…," Allen looked down in defeat.
Guess I will just try my best as the club president, Allen thought to himself. I lost the coin flip, so I should at least try my best at my new position. Maybe I'll do well?
"Well now that's out of the way, it's time to make this club official!," William announced as he brought out a piece of paper. "Everyone who wants to be in the club, please sign down at the bottom of the page. This will make your club and your membership official!"
One by one, everyone took their turn to sign the paper. Allen was the last of the six to sign at the bottom. William then put Allen's name next to the club president position part of the paper.
Ms. Clark finally came over and signed her portion, indicating herself as the temporary club sponsor. Finally, William was the last to sign it, indicating the club was official and had a director's approval.
"Everyone, I now announce your club as official!," William smiled as he looked around the room at everyone. "Your club will be known as the Training Club, and will have Allen Fleming as your Club President. You will be able to use the training rooms without much problems moving forward. Congrats!"
Everyone throughout the room smiled, looking around at each other not as fellow students, but now as fellow club members.
With this, the Training Club was now official. All six of them could now train together when they wanted to throughout the week, being able to use the training rooms much easier. Forming the club was just beginning!
