DANIEL
Kyle, Kayden, Clareta and Faye had been blissfully oblivious when they finally came downstairs and Cheri had been the one to tell them about it. Their shoulders had slumped like it was being weighed down by bricks and colour had left their faces. They sat with the rest of us in the living room and since then, no one had uttered a word.
I glanced at Enny as she took in a deep breath and buried her face in her hands. She pulled her hands away from her face after a little while as her mum placed an arm around her shoulder when I had been about to do that.
"Did someone die?" a voice asked and I turned my head to the left to see Lorenzo standing in the doorway of the living room with his brows furrowed in confusion. "Wait, is this because of the horde headed here?"
I tilted my head at him as I raised my brows, wondering why he wasn't freaking out about it.
"You're not worried?" Clareta asked as she sat upright and he pressed his lips together.
