ENNY
Luscious, red apples dangled from the branches as they glowed in a rosy manner under the sunshine and I held the bottom of one apple before I rolled it upward off the branch, giving it a little twist. The stem easily removed from the spur of the branch and I placed the apple in the basket I was holding before I repeated the process again.
Cheri's mum was the one who told me that was how to properly pick an apple. If they came off easily, they're ready to be picked but if they require a good bit of yanking and tugging, they weren't. She insisted on two things though; don't pull the apple straight away from the tree and never, ever shake the branches.
