I gave mum a small smile as I collected the opened canned peaches which had a fork in it and bottle of water which she stretched out to me. I was about to get lost in my thoughts again when I realized mum was still standing next to me. She didn't move and just kept staring at me for a while.
"What?" I finally asked and she gestured at the items she just gave me which were in my hands.
"Eat."
"I will," I muttered, looking away from her.
"Now." Her tone had an air of finality and she looked like she was definitely going to stand there till I ate the peaches.
I let out an exasperated sigh as I placed the bottled water next to me and ate one of the peaches. I couldn't taste it and it went down like stone but I grinned at her as I kept eating it. She finally left after I finished it and I let my head fall back to the headrest.
It has been sixteen days since I last saw Enny. It felt way longer than that.
