He laid there for half of the day fanning himself, eyeing the work material once in a while but having no such intention on working on them, work was exhausting for him ,writers barely get any good sleep and he gloomily agreed on that.
"I've no idea on what to write" he muttered nibbling the tip of the pen still lying on the cold wood watching those clouds pass by,the submission date was not far from some months and he had yet to start with an introduction of his story.
"Would you mind moving your ass once in a while?I'm tired of seeing you glued to the veranda" Lara said looking pissed, she was his niece.
"But I've got work. lots and lots of them" he defended.
"That would be if you start writing something for real, honestly I've seen the page blank ever since you got here" she brushed the clothes hard to release the excess water as she hanged them on the rope.
"But I don't know how....."
"Seriously how come you became a writer, you barely put effort " she glanced at him.
"Hey!I write great stuffs I just need some motivation that's all" he yelled getting up,
"I guess that works" Lara sighed .
He said he was good but he still had his doubts.
"Guess I will head out for some fresh air" he stood up reaching for his tshirt and his earphones
"You heading out beni?" Grandma asked drying the pumpkin seeds on the yard.
"For a walk,be back soon" he slipped on his sandals and walk out the neighbour alley.
He put on his earphones and strolled his way down the streets of the village passing by the fields and the childrens flying kites on the grasslands, he has got to admit it was a beautiful sight. swaying to the music he whistled his way along the road leading to his favourite spot "the stream" as a child he used to visit the place frequently be it secretly or with his friends , he loved the stream. The flowing of crystal clear water hitting those rocks with the sounds of cicadas and frogs made it more memorable, it will be hard forgetting those.
"I will take up some inspirations to start my work" he smiled slowly arriving at his beloved treasured place.
"Wait!who is he?" He stopped on his tracks,
A boy sat at the the rock starting at the top of the stream not to mention it was 'HIS' spot
"Whatever" he muttered stepping forward when he heard
"Kusou! Look we found crabs" a high pitched voice squealed, appearing out of the rocks.
The girl held a crab in her hands as she showed it delightfully to the other guy
"I found one too" another voice came behind the rocks, the boy stood up holding a giant crab in his hands
"Mine's bigger than yours" the boy bickered.
"Dumb taki mine's larger" the girl argued.
"Mine"
"No mine!"
"Shut off you two,not like it is an huge discovery" the boy at the top sighed at those pathetic strangers
"What a pain I'm just going to ignore them" he sighed sitting at a spot close to the stream planning on meditating.
"Hey ! Who are you!" One of the boy questioned him.
He was just going to ignore it but-
"Whoever you're I think you should fuck off cause this is our spot"
First of all how dare you not use honorificiation to a stranger and on Second thought this is "my spot" he clenched his gums
" this will be bad" he sighed removing his ear buds in the process
"Can you hear me? This is our spot go somewhere else " the boy shouted again
He stared at them.
"Taki apologize, this is not your spot" the petite girl, his friend hit him
*serves you right*
"I won't" the brat was stubborn
"Apology or you're getting hit" the girl glared at him
"Well whatever " the brat brushed it off walking away
*this punk*
"We're very sorry for our rude behaviour- the girl apologized.
-actually we are here for our vacations and just a few days ago we discovered this place so we've been here since then" the girl explained apologetically
"Well I'm tamaki" she offered her hand
"What's yours" she beamed a smile
"Im- it's beni"
"Beni???"
"Just beni" he shrugged, well what was he going to do with sharing information with a total stranger that has got nothing to do with him.
"Oh, hii beni nice meeting you, that's my friend taki that brat and that's kusuo" she said pointing at the two males a few distance away from them, he could see the taki guy shooting daggers at him and at the same time the guy kusuo stares creeped him out.
"Do you live here" she questioned
*Why the hell was she asking so much* he thought
"A visit" he replied
" oh so you're from the city?" She asked excited "me too" she added
"Yes" he replied
"Why are you here" taki interrupted the convo
"It's my spot" Beni replied
"Your spot?"what do you mean your spot?" Taki questioned.
He had no time arguing with someone, plus he just remembered why he was here
"Leave it" he said heading back
"Your spot?" A new voice questioned,it was the kusuo guy
He turned back " yes it has been my spot since- ...leave it" he stopped halfway tired of those meaningless questions
"Bye" he bowed at the girl and made his way home
He had no idea how the time went so fast,
To be clear, he actually went out just so he could fresh up his mind and start his novel which was no way he could continue after having encountered those brats who occupied his spot.
"I'm going to make those brats pay" he muttered slipping off his slippers as he made his way inside the kitchen.
"Right on time" granny exclaimed.
"I made some onigiri with lara, it's on the table" she said
Granny knew he loved them, everytime he visited her she would send him off with lots of them, hand made.
"Nothing beats oniguri" beni smiled having a bite of those rice cakes.
"So...have you cleared up your mind" granny asked him
"Yeah, I guess..." he sighed, he didn't wanted to mention those people who ruined his mood, not now
"It's late almost 6 why don't you take a shower and rest, I will call you down for supper" granny said picking the essentials
" fine" he sighed heading up the stairs
Granny had been one of those person he had the courage to open up to, not his family and not even his friends. It felt like she was welcomed in his comfort zone and it's been like that since 2nd grade.
He was considered an invisible in his high school, one of the reasons he started home schooling, the frequent bullying and threats severely affected his mental health so he liked his own space and being alone was one of them.
Until 2nd grade he was a cheerful kid with lots of friends, so what has made him like this, he questions himself.
