Ah yes, according to the words of the Other worlders, there cannot possibly be a magical world without the presence of a Demon Lord that sends a wave of terror and death throughout the continent. Same for the presence of the Hero who slays such a creature. However, this world is quite fortunate, as they possess multiple powerful beings who fight against the demon lords forces. These are the paladins and the heroes.
Chapter 2: |HERO AND DEMON LORD|
After the abrupt silence from the gods and the demon gods, the world was temporarily at peace. However, human nature wouldn't permit this for long.
The humans, fearing another attack from other species went on a mass attack against the other races. They slaughtered them, using their immense numbers as an advantage to slowly wipe out their 'enemies'.
The demons, not wanting to suffer any more casualties on their side, came up with a solution.
The demons possessed a secret weapon which they were afraid to use, for they feared its power. They then decided to put that power into a scapegoat which they could use. The most powerful demon around, loyal to the demon race and seeking the destruction of its enemies.
With a champion of demons let loose, the humans suffered defeat unlike any other. Not wishing for another near-extinction event, the humans did the only thing they could do. They beseeched the gods for help.
Who else could they turn to? The other races showed hostility to them and the demons were out to kill them. Their only chance were those who had been assigned to protect the peace of the world. The mighty Gods.
The gods saw it fit to help the humans. They gave power to a single human. The one purest of heart, yet the weakest who knew not what to do with the power. He was forced, by the human king, to enrol in the army and fight the demon champion.
The battle was tremendous and unforgettable. This being the first of its kind, marked the end of the Age of Humanity and the beginning of the Holy - Demon War that would go on to modern day.
The demon champion was given the name the Demon Lord and the human champion, the name Hero. Now it was so, that the Hero defeated the demon lord.
This led to action from the Demon Gods that had been slumbering. The lack of disorder enraged them and their lust for chaos fueled their rampage once again.
"Sacrifice the Hero unto us so the Foul ones may rest once again!"
This was the order given by the gods. The humans refused this offer, enraging the gods. Losing such power would have a drastic effect on their standing in the world. It was so that humans were one of the weakest existences, with nothing to their name other than number. The Hero was their only power, losing that would put them back into their dark ages.
The Hero however, sacrificed himself to the gods in secret, to avoid any form of resistance from the humans.
The Gods saw this act of true heroism and spoke these words unto the dying Hero.
"Never have we met such a brilliant light! For this act of selflessness, we shall let your legacy be lived on for centuries to come! Let it be that from now on, Heroes shall be born in every generation, and the Hero whose heart is as pure as thine shall be given the title True Hero!"
After this, the presences of Paladins and Heroes became a more common sight. However, another true Hero is yet to be discovered.
The demons, in their darkest hour, received help from the Gods themselves.
"Oh pitiful Demons! Look at what the humans do to thou brethren! They slayed thine champion and disgraced the demon race! I will stretch forth my hand to help you! In exchange, provide me with thine secret weapon!"
The demons wasted no time. They traded and the Gods created again another Demon Lord. His duty was to be the protector of the demon race and he possessed the ability to kill the Hero. So for centuries to come, the final battle between each demon lord and Heroes would take place! An endless slaughter with no true meaning to it other than each party's selfishness.
The Gods had made their move towards #@£℅~!
Now with all this happening, one being would ask the question, "Where are the Agents?"
