Later that day I skipped the dinner and went straight into the room that Albus and I had shared (There were only two rooms in the house) needless to say that the room was another laundry day away from becoming a pigsty, both of us had agreed though to clean it up tomorrow as a matter of fact we renewed this promise every day. Albus cam in from the mess hall and he too sighed and fell on his bed face front with all of his regular clothes on, "Long day?" I asked staring up at the ceiling, "You have no idea." Came a muffled voice. We sat in silence for a while and then he said, "What do you think should we go on the run tomorrow?"
"Physical no, the supply run? Yeah, I think it will be good."
"Let's go inform the general then." He said as he started to get up painfully.
"We still have to talk to Carly about this." He let out a groan and let his body fall limp again.
"Talk to me about what?" I looked to the left and she was halfway in the room already.
"Oh shit!" I shouted for I was not wearing a shirt.
"Shut up, stop screaming!" she hissed furiously, glancing towards the door.
"Why are you in here then!"
"To talk about the supply run obviously." She said this like I was supposed to know that she would be climbing into my room while I was half naked. She hoisted herself inside the room completely, "And anyways it's not like I haven't seen you naked before."
Eyes widened I turned towards Albus and I asked what is she talking about. He explained that when we came in we were checked for scratches bites and then told to 'hose ourselves down' I felt like I was about to pass out, I must have looked like it too because Albus and Carly were both trying to control their smiles.
I tried to pass over the fact that I was 'hosed down' in my sleep.
"I have a question. Did Graz change my clothes?" I asked fearfully.
I think Carly noticed that and avoided answering me, "So what do the two of you think? Wanna go on a supply run?"
Albus and I looked at each other, he finally sat up, "Well Liam and I were just discussing it and, we think that we should go for it."
"Yeah it is a great opportunity and I think that it will also prove to that nuthead instructor that I can outfight zombies" I chimed in.
"All that is well and good, but aren't you wondering why were the three of us selected?" Albus asked with an edge of seriousness to his voice.
"I think that it is because my dad and your gran have a thing."
Albus burst out laughing, he looked at me and said, "Have a thing! Can you believe her?"
"I don't like to admit it but yes, I think that they are…. Interested in each other." He noticed my frown and quickly sobered up
"NO! No no no." he kept saying while shaking his head.
While he kept looking like he was going to be sick I looked at Carly and just shrugged like I did not know what the hell was going on, Albus continued to look as though he was about to be sick, on the positive note he had stopped saying no.
Well this is going to be interesting seeing as they had a base to run together, I tried not to worry about that for now and focused on the now. "So, you think that your dad and our gran are trying to get us out of the way?"
"Not when you put it like that, but I think that they need some alone time." Carly said crossing her legs still perched on the window sill.
"But the fact remains that they want us to leave the fort even if for just a couple of hours." Albus said coming out of possible and probable denial.
"Well we don't know exactly but it could be to consider what they want and whether or not to tell us yet." Carly said, knitting her eyebrows when she thinks. I was staring at her for a moment before she looked at me and smiled before smiling back and looking away.
"Well we must leave now if we want to catch the general awake." Albus said when none of us could come with any proper theories.
We dressed up and the three of us head towards the general's house, walking in the middle of the road. The blank empty next to dark streets giving me chills and the constant feeling that someone was watching us. There was a thick growth of trees and bushes along most of the fences inside and out which probably gave these scares.
The guard towers rarely used the massive light they have in case it attracts more zeds. We finally reached the General's house. We arrived on the porch to the sound of some faint music inside. The music stopped almost as soon as we knocked. The general came to open the door and invite us inside. Gran came from the General's office which cause the three of us to cringe and Albus to let out a groan.
We informed him that the three of us will be going on the supply run tomorrow, for which he gave us a paper issuing a mini U-Haul sized truck and weapons of our choice. The details of when to leave would be decided by the three of us. We agreed that the best time to leave would be as soon as the sun rose. The three of us went back to our place (Carly was too weirded out sleeping at theirs). Carly took the couch and we set our alarms to 5 in the morning. I went to sleep that night, after so long. With a sense of purpose again.
