Lexine took her seat at the front of the hall, next to Taevlin. To her right was Desire who was seated with her back very straight. Even though Taevlin had informed her that Desire had no problem with their relationship, she still found it awkward to be seated next to her. Still, she hid it by looking straight and not talking to her.
They were in a bigger hall today, and there was no separation of species. Somehow though, they had all sat with ranking in mind. Those who had really low ranks had mixed together. However, for Lexine and her housemates, they were seated in the manner of their ranks.
The hall was noisy, and Lexine could even discern some of the conversations if she listened in hard enough. Someone was saying, "I hope that Headmaster Arkien is not removed from his position. He is irreplaceable."
