The room descended into silence for a few moments. "Hah?"
The shadow nodded his head harshly. "You must believe me master. I do not lie."
Lexine scratched her head, "okay okay. I am tired. Can you send the letter first. Then we can discuss more another time." She got off the bed and begun rummaging the room for a piece of paper and a pen.
He cocked his head once more, "Master, are you not angry?"
Lexine did not turn to look at him as she pulled open multiple drawers at a go, "Why should I be angry. Did you do something thay should have made me angry?"
The shadow immediately denied, "that is not what I mean, master. I was not useful, was I? I was unable to protect you during the fight before, master. I thought you would be angry and would rescind our contract."
Lexine turned her head slightly, "why on earth would I do that?"
"I let you get captured by the enemy, master. I should be punished. But, I beg you not to rescind our contract."
"What would happen if I did that?"
