School had been the same old, except this day was filled with 'goodbyes'. Anna's sister was supposed to give me a ride home so, I made my way towards the parking lot after the last Economics class. I had passed all my classes with exceptionally better grades than expected. I scrolled through my Instagram feed as I waited for Anna and her sister. They were probably on their way, just saying their last goodbyes. I looked up and examined the place; for some reason my gut was screaming that this will be my last time here. Suddenly, I felt my phone vibrate, once, twice, thrice, the fourth time. Who could have zero patience? I decided to check before my brain made any assumptions.

Hannah Flaura Blake was the youngest of the demented Blake family. Truth be told, she was the only sibling I actually liked; cool in her own way, a total nerd unlike me but she was fun to hangout with. I kinda missed her a lot. It had been over an year since I'd seen her in person. After Mom and Dad's separation, neither had she visited nor had I. Dad's wife didn't really appreciate having a teenager running around, let alone two! She always thought Hannah would have a bad impact on her seven-year olds which was pretty weird considering she was the bad influence! Hannah had never liked it here, with Leslie, the big mean sister around. That was the actual reason she had settled with Dad and back then, I happened to like it here. Not that you had a choice, my conscience winked at me.
"Yo, wassup?" I turned to look at the familiar face, I so badly wanted to kill for the morning inconvenience.
"Peter, fuck off before I break your crooked face!" I turned and started walking in the opposite direction.
"What the hell? What did I do?" He asked, catching up to me. He fucking had the audacity to ask me that after sending Tyler to my place! What a brat!
"Okay innocent Peter, just leave me alone, go fuck with someone else's life!" I stopped for a second and then continued. I didn't even know where I was going, I wasn't going to walk home. But you just left your ride behind, how dumb are you? My conscience chimed in. I seriously wanted to shut it out but how do you even shut that out? I decided to let go of that matter for now.
I could hear the sound of his breathing behind me, he seriously had to learn how to give someone space!
"Stop following me!" I demanded.
"No," he simply stated.
"Why? Don't you understand the phrase, 'just leave me alone'?" My temper was rising; if he tested me for another minute, I would explode.
"I do, but you owe me an explanation. What did I even do, was not giving you a ride my fault?" Confusion was clear in his voice. But he could be a liar, my conscience reminded me. I had known him my entire life, he couldn't just lie, he never has, not to me at least. Oh and how much did you trust Tyler, my conscience knocked once again.
"You didn't send him?" I stopped in my tracks and turned to look at him.
"Send who and for what, bruh? Be a little more precise." He raised his eyebrows.
"Tyler." Even saying his name hurt and I thought I was over him. I was though, I don't think-
"Tyler Davis? I would never, I see you hurting everyday, why would I do that?? Trust me on this one, please!" He said, interrupting my thoughts. Now pleading took over his face. He couldn't have done it, but then who told Tyler. He was only one who knew I needed a ride, except for Jason. Jason was out of the topic as soon as he had made it inside.
"But no one knew besides you and Jason," I replied and my mind clicked. Without glancing back, I ran. I heard footsteps catching up to me; he was faster than me, I remembered.
"What's wrong, Kayy?" He questioned as he half ran and jogged beside me.
"Home," I panted.
"Let me drive you, please wait here." He pleaded. I didn't want to run all the way home, so I slowed down to a stop.
He ran the other way while I fidgeted with my hands and tried coming up with a sensible reason of why she had called Tyler. Within five minutes, he was pulling up in his Audi. I got in and nodded at him to go. The first half of the drive was awfully quiet and I was thankful for that. I managed to text Anna about my sudden disappearance.
I looked sideways at him; his nut brown curls flapped in the wind as he drove. The sun successfully complimented both his emerald green eyes and his tanned olive complexion. His flawless skin, pale lips and slender nose shouted perfection. A prominent jaw curved gracefully around and the strength of his neck showed in the twining cords at base of his neck. This was the famous Peter Carson; the guy every girl at WhiteShore High wanted and every guy aspired to be. And what a shame that you chose Tyler over him, my conscience never failed to mock me. Looking away, I once again dived into my thoughts; Peter had always been there for me in his own dickhead way; looking out for me, giving me weird advices and making sure I was okay, making me laugh when I was down in the dumps, even when he didn't know what was wrong. Doing your dirty work should also be included, my conscience added and I rolled my eyes. I owed him a lot for everything.
"Thank you," the words slipped out of my mouth.
"You okay Katnisssss?" He said as amusement filled his voice.
I slapped his shoulder and he cracked up. I did too, no matter how hard I tried not to laugh at the way he said 'Katnisssss', it just never happened. Winking at me, he turned the volume up, 'Stockholm Syndrome by One Direction' was playing and I almost screamed. My endless efforts of dragging him into the fandom had finally paid off.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" I was trying not to jump.
"What? Oh, Elena picked this," he said smirking.
"Argh shut up!" I groaned and turned the volume up higher.
"Jealous much?" He teased and I playfully hit his head.
"Don't bring her up or you'll be thrown out!" I was the one smirking now.
"You were the one who got me into that mess, when do I get out? She fucking annoys me!" He replied with that devilish smile of his.
Rolling my eyes I said, "Soon! Now shut the fuck up and let me enjoy the song!" He obeyed and the rest of the drive was silent as music calmed my nerves. I had completely forgotten about my life outside this happy bubble.
Fifteen minutes later, he pulled up in my driveway, my seven minutes in heaven were officially over. I nodded him a thank you as I got out, I heard the other door close, Peter was following.
"What is it?" I asked facing him. He looked past me, following his gaze, I realised he was looking at the car. A red Chrysler was parked along with Mom's Honda.
"Mom probably has a friend over, I should get inside." I smiled at him.
"Your mom is pregnant??" He pointed towards the window as confusion took over his face. I glanced at the window and was taken aback. What the hell was she doing here?
"That's not my mom." I quietly replied and raced inside, my blood was boiling. How dare she stepped foot in this house after all she had put me through?! I took two stairs at a time and finally made it to the top. I pushed open the door and there she was.
"YOU BITCH!!!!" I shouted advancing in her direction.
"Not going to welcome me home, sis?" She said turning around, as that smug smile took over her face. I plunged at her and both of us hit the floor with a loud thud.
