Modoru, May, Grieger and Yori appeared out of thin air through the cascading stream portal into Kalisto's lab in an organized group. Kalisto noticed from his work bench, and looked utterly surprised. He got up, and walked towards them with a hurried air about himself.
"Where have you folks been? It's been a week." Kalisto said. The entire group looked at each other in shock. A week? How did they end up staying a week back into the past? Was it because of their run in with the looters? Modoru spoke for the group.
"I know we're still not sure how time flows in-between the past and the present, but we're sorry professor," Modoru explained, "We ran into looters and they tried to capture one of us. We had to fight them off to be able to safely head back to the future."
"I see…..there must have been some unseen effects through the time stream because by my projections; you should have been there only a few hours – in this time. Regardless you're here now, that's what matters. Has everyone fused with the required amount of Xenophite?" Kalisto asked.
"Yes, we confirmed the fusion of Xenophite before we left. Everybody is under the cascading phenomena," Modoru said.
"Because now that you have taken longer than anticipated, we're going to have to deviate from the plan. Everyone listen up!" Kalisto announced. "During the week that you folks were away I've been in discussion with the military of every bastion city. I will not have time to adjust four active prototype C.S devices for each volunteer to bring back to their city. Only three. Which means were going to evacuate one city – that being Diviner's City. May and Modoru, you two are to head Diviner's City and coordinate with the military there for the evacuation. Yori and Grieger are heading back to Wanderer's City and Settlers City respectively – after I have fashioned them their prototype C.S devices. Is this clear with everyone?"
"Yes professor," they all said.
"I guess we're heading back Diviner's then…." Modoru said as he looked at May.
"Where my uncle is…..do you remember your promise?" May asked.
"I do…I guess we're going to have a chance to exonerate him earlier than expected." Modoru said.
"I know you might be worried about what might happen, but just tell the military the truth. They already know what's happening with the plan to evacuate the city, I'm sure they won't come down on you hard. If anything, ill vouch for you." May reassured him with a smile.
"Thanks May. Ok, let's head out," Modoru said.
