Chereads / I'll Risk It / Chapter 2 - Hey Soda!

Chapter 2 - Hey Soda!

Addison's P.O.V:

Oh, and Ryan.

The douche who is my boyfriend.

"I'm sorry, I never get enough of you getting scared. You're too cute," he says to me while I try to get my breathing under control.

What did I see in this guy again?

He sat next to me, pressing his lips against mine and all my nerves die down.

Oh, that's what.

How I met him?

High school parties.

Crazy, I know.

Even crazier, I was dared to kiss some random guy at one of them and it turned out to be him.

We had never talked before that.

Ever.

A cough interrupts our intimacy and we pull away, gasping for air.

"Uh, sorry to intrude, but the meeting Addie," Naya, my assistant ambassador, said to me.

"Okay, I'll be there in a minute," I say, breathlessly.

Did I mention we have assistants?

No?

Probably should have.

Mine's Naya, a really nice senior, who always has my back when it comes to these things.

I look back at Ryan and...

Ah, Ryan Jackson Brooks, the co-captain of the baseball team and the master of puppy dog eyes.

"Oh no. No, no, no, no. Don't give me that look, you know I have to go," I tell him picking up my bag. He pouts and crosses his arms over his chest.

Talk about cute overload.

The hazel-eyed, brown-haired douche of my boyfriend is such a child.

"Okay then, let's make a deal, you walk me over to the ambassadors' lounge and then we make out tomorrow under the bleachers," I tell him as if I were bargaining with a child for the 'forbidden candy'.

His face lights up as he carries my bag for me and takes my hand in his.

"Shall we get you there?" he says walking me the door.

This guy will do anything for a good make out session.

At the door of the ambassadors' lounge, he kisses my cheek and hands me my bag.

"See you tomorrow Addie," he says, as I turned around on my heel.

"See you tomorrow Rye," I say and open the door and enter the room.

Well the mood was normal. Everyone was chatting waiting for the clock to chime half past four.

Good.

I had a good five minutes to wonder why I wanted to become an ambassador in the first place. But that's a story for another day.

I texted Iris and Julia to come pick me up for girls' night out after the meeting.

They are, yeah, you guessed it, my besties. Oh, and Julia is the one who dared me to kiss Ryan at that party that day.

Knowing Julia, she must have been devising that for quite some time before the said party.

I take my seat when they both reply with 'sures' and just in time, the chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary and vice secretary of our little 'committee' come in.

The chairperson is basically the student body president around here.

The four were just what their titles entailed. Weren't given a specific subject to 'rule over'.

We were divided into groups of two ambassadors plus their assistants making a total of four people in each group.

Each group was to choose eighteen people to go on the trip. The remaining six were to be chosen by the whole committee and if there were any repeats, replacements would be chosen after.

One hour of group work, and the other for reviewing and choosing the remaining six.

Guess who I was paired with.

Joy.

Leroy Brody Rider. Ambassador History.

Yeah, I know what you're thinking.

People have the best middle names while I was named after a type of drink, right?

Wrong.

That name is deeper than that. Way deeper.

Okay, back to the partner I have been chosen for.

Sure he's hot, sure he has blue eyes that sparkle whenever he's in a room, sure he has that smile that leaves your heart in a gooey bloody mess, sure he's like best friends with my brother for some reason, but I don't like him. Not one bit.

I've known him since kindergarten and even then, he was this self-centered boy who only cared about himself.

He flirts with anything in a skirt. He loves pulling pranks on me and seeing me embarrassed.

He has never let us have a normal conversation. They always entail flirting with me and at the end of it all, he makes the conversation all about himself.

Oh, and don't get me started on the number of girls he has banged. Happens at every party he goes to ever since he set foot in high school.

All those poor girls.

You can imagine how many V-cards he's taken.

Whenever he's not doing that, he's at my house 'hanging out with my brother' who is, by the way, a sophomore... in college.

How they even met in the first place?

No clue.

But what I do know is that I hate his... everything.

Not to mention his enhanced genetic obtuseness.

Oh, I'm sorry, his frikin' elephant sized ego.

How he became an ambassador? No idea either.

All I know is that he is as popular as the quarterback of the football team. Girls gushing over him and all that shit.

Excuse my language.

But he just gets on my wrong side and the mere sight of him gets me pissed level ten.

"Hey Soda!" he says a he plops down on the seat next to me.

Ah yes, unfortunately, he's one of the very, very, very, VERY, very few who know my middle name.

My brother just had to let it slip when he came over one day.

"Soda?" Naya asks, raising a brow.

"Yes. It's her favorite type of drink hence the nickname," he says smugly as I pinch the bridge of my nose and groaned in exasperation.

"Can we just get this over with?" I addressed everyone, "And stop calling me that," I said to him in particular.

God, he annoys the guac out of me!

"Anything for you Snowflake," he says making me roll my eyes at him in annoyance.

He's been calling me that for the last five years for some reason.

Oh, and how can I forget how my dad loves him.

Chris, my brother, was on the soccer team, Leroy also plays but isn't on the team and my dad was also on the team in his high school days.

Now that's how these three men, *scrunching nose*, these two men and bastard bond and get along.

We finish choosing the names with thirty minutes to spare and Brooklyn, Rider's assistant, being unusually quiet.

This is really not like her though.

Anyway, I make sure the three people who matter the most to me in this school are on the list with reasons that don't exist.

Iris, Julia and... I'll give you a minute to guess.

"So... Snowflake," ugh! Here we go again.

What is it Rider? What do you fucking want with me and my life??

If it's my V-card, you're not getting it.

Yes, I'm still a virgin.

"What?" I state rather than ask.

"Wanna get some ice-cream after we blow this joint?"

Wait, what?

Is he...?

"No, I don't. Plus, I have plans," I say dryly.

His face drops for a second but he rapidly wipes it away with a smirk.

"You sure? I can take you to my house after and we can have a lot of fun together," he wiggles a brow at me.

Wait, what?!?!?!

Did he just insinuate...?

No, he did not just say that!!!

That blue-eyed, blonde-headed bastard!

"I'd rather get strangled by toilet paper than go anywhere with you," I snort at him and then scoff.

"But you're still a virgin," he said smugly.

I feel a familiar heat creep up my neck and rest on my cheeks.

He did not just say that.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Exhale.

This is useless.

This isn't helping me.

HE DID NOT JUST FRIKIN' SAY THAT!!

I give him a pointed look.

"So?!" I asked as I felt my anger rise in my veins.

"So... I can help you fix that," he says simply like it's no big deal.
