As the door resounded another thud, Macielle stepped further back from it. She gripped her arms, protecting herself from the unknown being.
Whoever was knocking on her door would have been a stronger one. Being able to infiltrate the Imperial Duke's residence was enough to confirm that she was powerless against it.
Perhaps it was her brothers playing a prank on her. There were times when they would exchange pranks with each other. Macielle took a deep breath and shouted.
"Let me out already!"
Her flushed cheeks warmed her face. The darkness hid the fear painted in her eyes, the candle has long gone and lost its light. If it was her brothers, she would have them unable to leave their beds for days.
