One might say that the Grandis had it all. Glory, wealth, and power. Many envied them, but could never challenge the authority that the Grandis held. Scholars believed that there should be no more than one ruler in the land, yet the Grandis reigned alongside the monarch.
The light which governed and comforted the people, and the darkness that instilled fear within their hearts. A perfect combination of the two as they strived to keep the lands. The latter obeying its master's every word, appeased the former greatly.
There should never be an excess of each side, as the balance delicately hung in the middle and with a slight sway of the wind or a hush of a being could destroy the peace.
